Glad to hear it! I just purchased an XR-50 and my jaw dropped when I hooked it up. This convinced me to take a little trip down to Circuit City where they happened to have a Harman Kardon DPR1001 on clearance for $375. I reasoned that it was worth buying and doing a head to head comparison with the Panny-- plus it had a few great features like binding posts on all channels, a full set of preouts, a better warranty, and better cosmetics.Long story short- it too sounds fantastic! There is a different character to the HK versus the Panny. HK has a little more high end air (and a little more grain) and better bass, midrange is about the same. The HK definitely has better synergy with my Energy C3's. HK is also a little less power per channel, but more channels (7) versus the Panny (5).
All in all, these are steals at these prices. I'm definitely keeping the HK and probably keeping the Panny. Anybody want my Sony ES Home theater stuff?
