What model do you have ? I have the XR50. With the stock power cord, the midrange is a bit recessed. It was difficult for me to listen to because, I was used to listening to the midrange heavy ultra-smooth Audio Refinement Complete. But after some break in and with an aftermarket cord, I was able to get more warmth and push out the midrange. It is very satisfying now. I am not sure I will be buying analog amplifiers anymore. I am not willing to spend kilobucks on CD players, high quality preamps and monster power amplifiers. Yes, that is what is needed to match the bass/dynamics and transparency of this Panny.
People with high end systems should check out the Panny to introduce some sanity (if they want :)) into their audio purchases.
