Thats the beauty of digital. Keep the signal short and clean (IOW dont lose any of the zeros and ones) and you'll have a faithful reproduction of what the recording engineer intended. Strange how its taken over 20 years for the technology finally to gel. If high quality and inexpensive digital amplification like the Panny would of existed then (and evolutionized from there) many people would of probably saved thousands in esoteric audio gear attempting to make cds listenable. The recording engineers would of then faithfully mastered the music instead of some cheap solid state boom box. Thats water under the bridge.Regarding today:
Its true that coloration of say tubes can help a digital recording. Unfortunately its inconsistent. That coloration can sound good for one recording and bad for another.At least with the Panny I know its the recording and not my system.
