with some of the best 'boat anchors' of today ? I have and can tell you there's no contest here. Boat anchors still rule and will do for a very long time. Maybe digital amps will improve by time, but I doubt very much they will eventually surpass good old boat anchors.I've even compared boat anchors from 10 years ago to some digital amps and still preferred the old amps aross the board.
I find digital amps are indeed impressive when you first listen to them. But, eventually something is missing from the music..they do have some strengths but many weaknesses as well.
New technology DOESN"T necessarily mean BETTER sound.. not just in audio but in many other walks of life.
Just my opinion..
