I asked a tech (who took me in and showed me all the ARC tricks) about the A/C pots. They just affect the small signal tubes (specifically the 6FQ7/6CG7s), and he told me not to bother adjusting them. This part isn't technical- Unless you are really anal about this or screwed around with the pots, leave 'em alone). I've never touched them, and my ARC sounds great!
You could get a techie with a distortion analyzer to check it over if you really feel inclined to do so.
