I also wonder if the Atma-Sphere folks ever worked for or with Audio Research... being from the same city....I've heard the REF 3 preamp and it was not sterile or dry sounding at all to me...Was told that the LS-17 is 95% of the REF-3.....It would be interesting to compare these two line stages along with the new Sutherlund Direct LS preamp.
