Re: Hey Lance

Rodney,

I hate to admit this ,but, I tend to listen quite loud. My room is dedicated to audio and is 13' wide by 20' long with 9' cellings. I listen to lots of blues, jazz, classical, faulk, and even pop and cross over country if well recorded. I actually continue to have problems with my ASL AQ 1006 DT, which is why I purchased the Wavelength gemini amplifiers. Now, the Lowthers at 102 db sensitivity was a no brainer with the Gemini's 2 watts. On the other hand, I had returned my ASL 845 SET back to the Canadian distributor once again for service (hopefully they will get it fixed this time) because I was fairly confident that I would need more than 2 watts for the 95 db efficient Fostes's. Well, Low and behold, the Fostes 206e/bass reflex get VERY loud with the Geminis. But, in my opinion, the 45 amps are more clinical and perhaps sterile than the ASL 845s. Those 845 amps didn't quite have the refinement or inner detail of my Wavelenth's, but, they bring a different kind of magic that the 45 amps with my Fostex and Lowthers. I guess I'm fortunate because I get to keep both of them :).
Also, FYI, I have been a vintage tube amp collector for many years. I have recently gotten rid of all my collection except a pair of Eico Hf-86 amps which I have bridged (just flip a switch on the amps) for dual mono usage. They are remarkable. Good luck

Lance
