I believe that when you are doing such a large projection, a line doubler is a must for a good picture. You are increasing the picture size but not the number of scanning lines, something has to give. .......

The only way to compare is to match the levels of the two players to within .1db. You need meters for this, not your ears. And it is possible that the two mixes were not exactely the same, or recorded .......

It really depends on your speakers sensitivity, its nominal impedance and its minimum impedance and volume level you are trying to accomplish and your speakers ability to handle those spls without muc .......

I saw a DLP set a few days ago. Forgot the brand but was advertised for $6k. The picture was bright, but it was not calibrated properly so I believe it was overdriven. They fiddled with the red color. .......

Here is a simple initial test before you go get duplicates. A test disc is needed though, with either pink noise or a few frequency bands like 1khz, 100hz and perhaps a 10khz tone, if no pink noise is .......

I don't want to spoil your wait for DTS but you may want to reconsider that it will ever take off; a nich market. HDTV is inevitable as it is a standard. Here is something that transpired recently ay .......
