These were available in Overseas PX's for the military during the early 70's. I believe that there are 3 tweets, 3 mids and a down firing woofer. I don't they sound very good, but they sure look neat! .......

I just opened up the back of the CS 77's and did a little amatuerish checking of the tweet on one speaker. It's completely burnt out. Just to be sure, I even took the midrange leads and quickly hooked .......

what output wattage are you using. I have seen low rated L pads sparking, experience here. If your using 20 watts or better just order a 50 or 100 watt L pad from madisound for $8. Better quality too. .......

Sorry, you've to listen to speakers you are going to live with. You might try Zu or Teton for modern high efficiency speakers. Also JBL , Klipsch, or Altec also would seem to fall into the category of .......

Go very light with the stain! You may not even need it. Just wet the wood in a small area and look at it. This may match the lattice grill. You may not need any stain at all! Good Luck! Cut-Throat .......

You can do a simple test. Use some clip leads to hook on to the midrange capacitor, run the leads out the port, clip onto a small film cap (around 2µF), if you can hear a difference it would probably .......

I would agree. I had the 2252B and yes it tends to be on the very bright side. However the A-25's are a wonderful match up with them. The 15" woofer will not bring in the bass you are dreaming about. .......

As far as I know, Kenwood has never made a highly regarded speaker. They, like most japanese audio companies made all different kinds of components, but are mostly renowned for their tuners. Technics .......

Are the tweeters on both speakers producing the same VOLUME of sound? There COULD be a problem in the crossover network, but I would expect that if a cap is going bad, one tweeter would sound brighter .......

I know that cerwin-vega is a brand that i usually associated with immature boomy big boxes that do anything but to sound HIFI. Thats what i conclude after i made the switch from my big clunky cerwin-v .......
