Have no experience with S8e, but I was owner of SP7/1. I heard many good things about Spendor, so I brought SP7/1 without audition. Nevertheless, I did not like it since day one. It's build quality is .......

The SP7/1 is almost as clean as the SP1/2e but more powerful on the bottom and not loose at all like the SP9/1. All I can say is that the SP7/1 is more coherence compare with both SP100 and the 9/1. : .......

Let's see if I can add some light (or at least heat - ;^D). Both are actually about the same size (the SP1/2 is slightly bigger) and use the same core driver. That is an 8" Spendor-built polymer woofe .......

I like the Classic series speakers better also. I have not been nearly as impressed with the S series units. -Bill .......

Anyone compared these two speakers?? Just curious how the two compared, they go for about the same money on the used market. i would think the 7/1 would be the better speaker but I could be wrong. Any .......

Hi, anyone hear or own these speakers. They were floor standing 2 way speakers. They used an 8 inch woofer and the tweeter. The speaker Cabinet looked really nice. .......

There's a pair of SP 7/1 listed over at Audiogon right now. These are fairly scarce, and there probably aren't too many of them in the U.S. I have an internet friend who has the SP 9/1, and absolutely .......

I am selling a pair of Spendor SP7/1. I have replaced them as I found them a bit too polite. They may be just what you are looking for. They fit all your criteria except that they are a floorstander ( .......

I haven't heard them, but own a spendor 3/5. Also I've heard the 3/1P's and the SP 1/2's. They all sound pretty much the same save for the varying extensions of the larger speakers over the smaller on .......

Audio Unlimited in Denver. Just got a flyer from them and they are selling a pair of SP7/1s for $1000. SP2/3 drivers in a fancy, faceted floostanding cabinet. Spendor dropped them because they cost to .......

Hey Lemonbishop Yes and no. I have newer heard either the S/2 or Sp2/3 But i have heard the Sp 7/1 several times. The produktion of this model has now stoped. It was a very close relative to the Sp 2 .......

I find my sytem not satisfing. It lacks presence at low volumes, upper bass(cello's and lower piano registers) is "shy" , the general perspective of the music is to far back in the soundstage to enjoy .......

I owned Kef C80s (my first "audiophile speaker" purchased unaware of any other alternatives nearby) - had a cupped hands signature. My oldest sister still owns these. Vandersteen 2Ci's - nice "jolly" .......
