This is very interesting news!! I ordered a Wave/IO board a few weeks ago, and already purchased an Alix. nLited XP-Home (running on 4 parallel SLA-batteries) and Foobar on Alix gives lower SQ than At .......

I should also note that the install option in Voyage for an Alix board (as opposed to generic x86) means you get a kernel compiled specifically for the Alix/Geode boards. .......

I had sent my fit-PC2 to John Svenson for a comparison with fit-PC slim. His conclusion was that SQ of fit-PC2 was not at the same level as fit-PC slim. I lucked out on finding a fit-PC slim so I boug .......

Hi Greg If you play with Alix, I'll point you to a couple of key tweaks that bring out the best. One inmate suggests the 1d over the 3d2 I use as it has bias control you would enjoy. I had good succes .......

The Alix and FitPC slim are pretty similar, the main differences are that the Alix does not have a video subsystem, this can be a significant advantage, a lot less noise running around on the ground p .......

Hi Douwe I have run the ALIX with 3 different power supplies. First a 19V laptop PS to test it. Worked ok. Then found an old 9v 3A PS from an old SMC access point. This I used for most of my learning .......

My Alix is pretty minimalist. CF-based O/S, NAS access, no other processes, MPD GUI is client-based. My PK90USB (Auraliti) isn't much more than that, either..except for better SOtM USB card. ::: TOPIC .......

MPD itself is a few layers above the USB drivers. USB Audio v.2 support is a matter of alsa drivers. Alix is x86, you should be able to compile latest alsa 1.0.24 on another x86 machine with the kerne .......
