In the 4 years since I went to a set amp, having enough money to get the proper speakers has been my challenge. Tried Zu, Coincident, Klipsch, & Tekton. The Tekton were my clear favorites. Very reveal .......

Just buy a pair of the tekton's 4.5 and listen to them. You can always return them and you'll only be out shipping. that's what I did and I never returned them. I love them! .......

I have the little 4.5 Tekton's about 93db and drive them with a 45 and a 2A3 amp. They are amazing!....They give me about 90% of what my Large Horn System does. At $500 a pair they were a steal. ::: T .......

Most minimonitors are are at least 12 inches high. I think if you found something to your specs, they would not sound very good, even if even they existed. If you want a very nice efficient 93db small .......

If you don't want horns then cross Klipsch off of your list since that is what they are known for. Everything else on your list is outrageously more expensive than the Tektons. You may have read that .......

These are older Tektons, with the 6" Fostexs. They didn't come with any BSC circuitry; I used a digital EQ in place. Driven by a Bottlehead SEX amp, supplemented by dual subs w/ their own amp (Aragon) .......

It's a variant of dipole. From Eric's explanation I remember reading(dun take my words for it), the main driver is OB right there at the front, the one in enclosure is phase-inverted with early rollof .......

The FE127E does have really flat frequency response for a Fostex. That driver looks like it would make a good extended range midrange too. At 91db/w sensitivity with 1.8watt amps, I think we might hav .......

am not sure how you're hooked up but it might (??) sound better when the attenuator is between the preamplifier -out and power amplifier-input - rather than attenuator between the DAC and the preamp's .......

I second the Tekton design speakers. My M-lores are every bit as good as my Klipsch Forte's (upgraded with Crites crossover and titanium diaphragms). Both sound very good with a 4 watt 421A-based SET. .......

Hmm.. the add says "pure open baffle" but that box on the bottom sure looks like a BR to me. By the way, I use an FE167 in OB and it sounds great. Crossed (first order) about 1200hz to a JBL 2226 in B .......
