I don`t want to say that the MP3 is worse than the Paragon but I liked the sound of the Paragon more. At least it appeals more to my feeling of how music should sound. Someone else might have differen .......

I tried the Speltz in my System when I was auditioning the M60`s at home. Without the Speltz the sound was to lean in the mids and bass for my taste. The impedance match of the amps with my 4 ohm Caba .......

I have a Paragon 12A running as phono pre via tape out...its crystal clear yet solid and warm (not in a negative sense) not overly "tube like" warm...i like the sound more than my ARC PH5 phonostage. .......

I have a PH5 as well as a Paragon 12A preamp which i use as phono stage via tape out right now. the PH5 sound much more jucy, liquid, less thin and with a bigger stage than the SS units I auditioned i .......

Get a used Paragon 12 (A) put new caps in it and be in heaven ;) it has 3 phono inputs which sound better to me than my current Audio Research PH5 (which is still one of the best I know)... ::: TOPIC: .......

Thanks again for your explanations. I always used the rule, loading 10 times the internal resistance, too wich led to the conclusion that the Ruby sounds dynamically compressed and overdampened with v .......

thanks for your answer!!! so f I would use the LL9206 in 1:10 i would get around 470 Ohms wich would be sufficient for the Ruby. Iīve heard that with step ups the impedance matching is not as problema .......

I would say the PH5 has ample gain for most applications. I can see an andvantage in using an step up only for very low output, very low impedance carts like an SPU. I tried only an Lundahl LL 1681 in .......

The E.a.r. has no mods. I did some tube rolling but ended with the org. ones. I know the the E.a.r. can be easily improved or at least changed soundwise but i like the sound very much even when its or .......

Itīs a Paragon 12A with PCB board. Even with a just a "good" mc step up as the audiotechnika At-650 the Paragon was playing as satisfiyng as the PH5. The Paragon had a wider and higher soundstage and .......

why changing the tubes on the E.a.r.? the stock tubes even if theyre not fancy NOS tubes are sounding really really good...and will sound much better than the phono card in your preamp. i trieddiffere .......

as far as i know your equipment i would suggest to go for a better cart like a benz ACE...i have also a 103 and like it alot but a Benz ACE for instance has a far more advanced sound wich your equipme .......

i would go for Benz (Ruby, LP, Ref) theyre have all the resolution, space and dynamics but overall they put all right together and sound highly musical...a big plus is also that you dont have wasted y .......

myself ;) yes the Mörch tracked not even 60 ĩm with a Benz ACE, in the Kuzma the ACE tracked 80 ĩm on the ImageHifi test records..even with the most heavy arm tube (yellow? red? dot...i cant remember) .......

post scriptum...both arms have an medium effective mass around 12g but on the unipivot StogiS you can fiddle around with different silicon levels to match different carts... .......

I would go for an Kuzma Stogi (gimbal bearing) or StogiS (unipivot, silicon dampened)...both arms are very very solid built and even the unipivot handles really stable nearly like a gimbal bearing arm .......

i donīt think itīs a arm/cartridge matching problem...i used alot of different carts from Denon Dl-103 to Grado also different Benz Systems (Gold, ACE, M2, Ruby 2 Wood) on the Arm (Kuzma StogiS) witho .......

i found the difference between 1k and 47k not too big (logarithmic scale!) and i also liked the Ruby 2 low output most on 47k...the Ruby 3H has an internal impedance of 60 ohms, so 600 ohm on the phon .......

Yes to start with 500 ohms is essential with the Rubyīs/LP Low Output generator, with medium output Benz systems like the Ruby 3H even more >1 k...but loading the cartridge with higher values will ope .......

Hi... yes i know the behringer stuff but havnīt tried it so far...you can correct the frequency curve of the system but you canīt erase runtime errors caused by reflections imho this can only be cured .......

that sounds good ;) i have the assumption that a higher input voltage into my Gryphon Tabu amp (caused by a higher cartridge output and thus a stronger phonostage output signal)leads to a more "meaty" .......

i found (depending on the actual record playing) 500 ohms to 1k with different phono stages best with my Ruby 2...500 ohm gives slightly more bottom whereas 1k is a little more open...with my Audio Re .......

i will go with what munna said about the E.a.r., but i would say the 834p is simple made and the the build quality is good even if there are no fancy audiophil parts used...i bought the unit new 3 yea .......

i called a dealer in berlin today, wich has the PH5 in stock so i try to hear it next week...but i think i also need to check if the balanced inputs (XLR) of the ASR may be another option cause itīs i .......

Hi thanks again for your post... do you think the PH5 has a slimmer midbass than the E.a.r.? i have the version with build in transformers and volume control...the ASR sounds way slimmer than the E.a. .......

Thanks for your detailed description...i also have a 834p wich i totally love...i also have an ASR BASIS HD (aka EXCLUSIVE outside of germany)...yes the E.a.r. sounds really rolled of at the frequency .......

i would try a benz high output system...if it should be not to expansive i would go for a ACE H. i have a 834p (MC) and a Benz L0.4 a wonderful combination... .......

thanks for your posting... i had a pre model (from the beginning oft the 90`s) of the actual basis for a long time and was happy with it...but the actual basis is a whole different design, so i dont k .......
