Killer groove and very propulsive, especially on a good idler turntable. All the albums after that sound very commercial FM to me. Synthesizers don't mix well with Texas blues. .......

I have a RB300 and it hummed with Grados on an AR ES1 and a VPI HW19. The solution came from rewiring the arm with the Incognito loom which diverges from the Rega scheme by including a dedicated groun .......

I have used a Rega RB300 for decades. The standard Rega arm will hum with the Grados, I believe due to the Rega grounding scheme. When I rewired my arm with the Incognito loom with separate grounding .......

1. My guess is your cartridge (not sure what you have) is not playing nice with the grounding Rega uses (not separate from the signal path). You have options - a cart that works better with a Rega sto .......

Ordered Abbey Road from Amazon UK and it took almost three weeks. Packaging for one LP was weak, my copy got bent in shipping, no damage to the vinyl but a crease on the cover. It is a better pressing .......

I've had my SP16 for 4 years and like it a lot. If you haven't tried NOS tubes in both sections you should give that a try. In my experience good 5751's in the line stage and Amperex 12ax7's in phono .......

I use a Denon 103R/Cinemag running into my SP16 and the combo is very dynamic. The Cinemag is set at 36:1 and loaded to 14 ohms, putting the 103R's output at right around 4.5MV, just about perfect for .......

I run the Cinemag with my 103R on the 1:36 step up with a 30 ohm load. Also good to remember as you lower the load the output of the step ups is reduced, so starting with the 1:36 ratio gives you plen .......

Was just leafing through some old folders and ran across the receipt for my Rega. Purchased in person at Sound by Singer in NYC on 5/1/85. The total was $194. and change with sales tax. Still enjoying .......

You are refering to the extra bolt hole in the Rega headshell that works just with Rega carts and provides a no fuss setup. The Rega also has the conventional slots and works with a lot of great carts .......

Works very well with the HW19 (based on my 11 years and counting with the combo). Get an Incognito wired version if you buy new (and you can find that with a quick google search for Rega and Incognito .......

I spoke with HW a few years ago on this topic. Harry told me that the Mark III and Mark IV platters would work fine on the Jr plinth, and I think he was recommending the pucks vs springs at that time. .......

I'm a Mac user and the Finyl Vinyl package they sell at Apple store for $39 includes the software and the USB connection to make burning LPs to CD or ITunes. Its easy to use and sounds pretty damn goo .......
