Have a pair of 903 pilots, one is labeled as a Dictograph? The circuits are the same, however the Dictograph uses a 5ug rect tube and the pilot uses a 5y3. I tried a 5ug in the pilot sounds much bette .......

Thge voulume control works fine, just the on off is bad. So you say to bypass that with a rocker of toggle, is that correct?--Wamba .......

The inputs are tape/aux, tape monitor, and recorder out. Why does the recorder out also work as a input, just curious---Thanks .......

If it has hum pots, replace them, had the same issue with a zenith console amp, replace everything and still had a occasional scratchy sound, pots solved the problem---wamba .......

A pair of Dynaco A25's for 6 bucks!! Cabinets in good shape grills have not been off, but will be soon, just gotta play with my toys. They should sound good on my pilot 903 amps. .......

Try to get under the edge of the screw or frame and apply upward pressure while turning it out, I used some sidecutters under the head of one, and it worked out---good luck .......

Pulled from a Zenith console, already separated fron the tuner preamp. I found another two pair of male spades coming out the middle of the chassis, same type as the speaker outs, any idea what there .......

Decided to re-cap the fisher with Audio caps, what a diff, I know they have to break-in but is noticeable right off, the 715 Orange drops were smearing it. Will kept the fisher, has perfect wood cab w .......

My AR3a's sound great on my fisher 400 4 ohm tap, I put sound quality over volume anyday, if it does'nt sound good at 1 watt it's not going to---Wamba .......

Yes. I know it has to be coupled externally, want to disconnect power to amp section so can use the pre-amp without heat build up and further damage to to power section-------Wamba .......

My st-70 that I aquired has the standard .05 caps but instead of .1's on the board it has 1.5uf caps, why? Can I go back to a smaller value? Will I notice much diff?--Thanks .......

I am not a audiologist, but a licensed dispenser,we are not all given perfect hearing, normal response at any given frequency can vary as much as 20 db. This fact has always amazed me when other audio .......

Its and old Dictgraph mono amp I am guessing that this is the tube, can make out the 3 and looks like af behind it, uses 2 6v6 output, 1 12au7, 2 12ax7 and a large 5u something rect tube, I replaced t .......

You are not alone, I also wear digital hearing aids as well as program them. If you you were profoundly deaf I doubt you would get much help since profound starts at about a 90db loss when the normal .......

Try cleaning the pots first, most of them are fussy. I have 2 pairs of them I just put new pots in them from parts express a easy fix. Just listen to them, if you are a rocker, these are probably not .......

Try a pair of vintage ar4x 2-ways, will probably have to replace the pots, it depends on your listening preference, if you like jazz these are great. .......

I bought a pair for 70 bucks, was not impressed, I guess it depends on your preference, and what you prefer to listen to. Have a pair of diy's that blow them away! .......

Is a fisher 400 tube receiver strong enough to drive ar3a's? I have been listening to them for a week. They are wired to the 4 ohm out and sound great at moderate volumes. I am wondering if it is hard .......

I have a pair of ar3a's and a pair of ess amt-4's. I am going to drive them with a fisher 400. The ar's are 4 ohm, which seems easier on the amp but I have not tried the ess 8 ohm. Any thoughts on the .......

I USED A SMALL PIECE OF RUBBER HOSE AND LAID IT IN THE SURROUND, THEN HEATED WITH A HAIR DRYER, IT WORKED GREAT, THE HEAT SOFTENED THE DOPE AND I WAS ABLE TO WORK THEM BACK TO THERE NORMAL POSITION, W .......

I recently aquired a sca-80, I was told that these older ss units tended to have a tone more simular to a tube amp, is this so? also will it have enough clean power to drive four ar4x's? .......
