Greetings from Tucson! You'll find a great npr/syndicated jazz station at 89.1 KUAZ, classical at 90.5 KUAT, and the best community radio station in the country at 91.3 KXCI. They have different dj's .......

I finally now have a room large enough to accommodate my Tympani's - 22' x 24' with a 10' ceiling. I don't currently have a SS amp, nor do I have the $2,800 for the ML 23.5 I used to have. Any sugg .......

Has anyone tried Valve Art or Western Electric 350B output tubes with this receiver? The Mullard El37's that my 500 came with are dead and the SED SV6L6GC's I purchased suck. Any tube recommendations .......

I did compare the V2 in rosewood to my 15 ohm Chartwell LS3/5a's in teak, with black badge and silver label. The Stirlings are a fine speaker, but sound peaky next to the Chartwells, and they only .......

I love my 8b and it did smoke the reissue 9's I had. But then I got a single 5. The jump from the 8b was staggering. The 5's are tube rectified which make a significant difference IMHO. Model 2's keep .......

Marantz 10b for stereo and a REL Precedent for mono. I have not heard the Scott 4310... I've had may tube and SS tuners and the two I mentioned are the two left standing. The Fisher 400 receiver, 90X .......

I have driven Ls3/5a's with mine in a 12X12 bedroom. It sounds great and the tuner pulls hard with a 25 cent dipole. As good as it is, nothing has ever bested my Fisher 400 receiver in this applica .......

I recently scored a Marantz Model 18 and a pair of KLH Model 6 speakers. An amazing combo for less than $500. I will add however, that there is not a receiver more satisfying than the Fisher tubed .......

I would be willing to bet that NOS kt66's would fair better than the svetlana's for your vintage amp. I find the best synergy with the same vintage- whether it's tubes, amps, or speakers... Early Mara .......

Yes, the 2441 diaphram was a new JBL replacement. I felt that it scooped a little of the mid range magic and that it tipped up the top end too much. I'm happy with the 2440. I wonder if a grey bubble .......

The best amps for 57's that I have found, for the money, are the Quad II Classic reissues. Just swap a Mullard for the recitifier and they are sweet s honey. I find ARC to be dry as dust and as musica .......

I agree with everything said here and would add that there is something magical about the 400. I listen to my 400 and 500c everyday. The 400 for music during the day and the 500c for my 2.1 channel ho .......

A Shure Ultra-500! I also have a type II and a V15V-MR 25th anniversary. The Ultra is the best of that bunch. Better yet, get a London Decca Jubilee. It makes all other cartridges sound dead... ::: TO .......
