The only constant in your equation is the pivot to spindle distance. 145mm makes as much sense to me as the standard 146.03mm. 55.3mm is in a bit close to the label. The label begins at about 50mm. If .......

Check it out again, maybe you need to go into the setup menu on the sat box to make sure the output is not muted/turned off. Call the sat company and ask about analog sound output. How is the tv hooke .......

It looks like a xlm cartridge but has a few minor differences. It looks like the gold part of the body has a small indentation. Usually, you will see a L shape bump out here to hold sides of the back .......

I'm thinking you need to get a bulletproof vest, and watch out for defective oil cans. You might have trouble finding oil cans, I don't think I've seen an oil can in decades. .......

Came with the stands. They are dynamic but well balanced. I consider them smooth because the highs are little more subdued without any peakiness when playing cds than most other speakers I have heard. .......

Another pair of rare nice sounding Sansui's I own are sp-100i. Click on the link for a translation of a japanese website. These listed for $1500 a pair and have the most solid cabinets I've ever seen. .......

Interesting. I preferred the sansui to the pioneer. It seemed to have a more quite background and a touch more bass. I'll have to give the pioneer another try. May have just been difference in cartrid .......

Yes its a good preamp with a good phono section. I am confident you will prefer it over the phase linear 2000. I use a philips/magnavox 6 function universal remote I picked up for about $10 since mine .......

If a preamp will do, look for a Pioneer C-90 or Yamaha CX series like a CX-800 or CX-830 all from the late 80's. Then add whatever vintage amp you like. .......

I have one. I seem to remember it took an hour or two for it to break in and lose its harshness/edginess. Sounds very similar to bottom model xlm but with just a touch more distorted sound and a good .......

Record and Tape Traders has several stores with fairly small record sections. The Towson store has the biggest record section followed by the Catonsville store. Mainly classic rock with some newer tit .......

I love "Hell is for Children." I just picked up a couple adc qln 38 styli and they do hard rock pretty nicely. Definitely not as smooth and balanced as an xlm but it has more balls, just what a rocker .......

The 5700 is a high end unit and should have an adequate phono preamp built in. It probably will not beat a decent cheap seperate phono preamp. Make sure you have the receiver set in direct mode to byp .......

Gas is more convenient, but charcoal tastes much better. Charcoal beats gas by a wider margin than vinyl beats cd, must be the mastering/cooking. I have got to get a charcoal grill by next spring. ::: .......

Just picked up a vms 30 recently. Seller recomended 1 gm vtf. I go a little higher but 1.6gm would probably bottom it out. If it doesn't bottom out between 1-1.25gm you should be good. Definitely a te .......

It has a white label with a large red and black dot/elektra insignia at the top of the label. Bought it used in the mid 80's. Tracked fine with an adc xlmIII at 1gm and an ortofon vms 30 mkII at 1.25g .......

When I upgraded my turntable a few months ago, I couldn't believe how good vinyl was sounding. Makes me wonder why most gave up on vinyl in the 80's for cd, especially people who had decent vinyl rigs .......

Thats great, you liked one of them. Some of that old metal can be pretty horrible and its not for everyone. I'd sell the Jag Panzer so a fan can enjoy it and spend the proceeds on something you like. .......

I just loved your argument. Cd is superior to vinyl, even if the vinyl is mastered better and sounds better. Thats very logical. Stick to cd. .......
