I have an 8GB Pi4 and boot Raspbian directly from an USB SSD. Partition the SSD and load your whole library on that. Largest microSD card I run is a 128GB. My second Pi4 has picore and a SSD as well. .......

I had the same issue with an AR The Turntable i.e ES1 The pulley came off OK using a spoon to gently apply upwards force. Replaced with a pulley for the HZ as I bought a similar scrap TT with the righ .......

You just missed a Karat 17D2 at $400 which would have been to die for. There is a 20XL which is a great cart but it is a used retip at 450 (for Ruby & line contact would be a deal) but still an excell .......

The RB300 at 11.5 effective mass excludes some MM options while the preferred stores stock good MC's which would match. The Ortofon Bronze would be my sweet spot in what I see available on the website .......

While Ed was correct I also do not have VTA on the fly so tend to only adjust on critical LPs with a series of custom cut cardboard. Not fluted but various thicknesses under the mat.That said: Benz L2 .......

Sounds fine into the big set too if you have a half decent DAC but does not match a good dedicated transport. Vinyl however is still better than 24/96 probably because of jitter. For about $50 this is .......

I only got my SUT after I switched my Shelter 501 out but consensus seemed to be the SUT works best with the EAR834. You match the SUT to the cartridge, I am using Cinemags 3440AH & with Benz, Dyna's .......

Fremer did a review of what the SAS styli sound like on the Shure MX97. Summary he liked the detail, dynamics etc. However the doubling of the price has put it up there with the Denons' you looked at. .......

Between the Ortofon, Dyna or Goldring I would get a Dyna 20X. My SS ruby retip (optimized contour line contact) 20XL easily bettered the Goldring 1042. Much better sound staging even on a low level ar .......

I was not a great fan of the Concorde, my friends had them but the VMS 20 & 30 seemed far richer, smoother up high, better extension. Just wondering if like Grace with the F9 Ortofon had a sweet spot .......

I alternate a Grace F9 SS retip with my MC's and on some arms especially with rock I prefer its speed and tone. Also if you want warmish with a bit of slam the Goldring GX series deliver a good balanc .......

If you get a good DAC you can stream via PC, use a cheap DVD player etc. I opted for a old top transport with the real cash in the DAC. These days I suspect the quality Dac is the key. Sort of like n .......

Just reading the post I have to agree, Yes I remember noticing these vibrations on a beach, but, there is no doubt when I built a sandbox the sound did achieve focus. This is still noticable thru muti .......

I would suggest being absolutely certain on your cartridge style first. Having used both MM and Low output MC I still give an edge to MC LO though the right MM is really beguiling. Best MM I have hear .......

The Guru protracter basically sets alignment slightly back from normal and I found I did get better sound. Perhaps he is close to optimal on just hearing test .......

Given that I can get either the Jade CD transport or the CarmenII DVD/CD transport which will deliver better sound. I understand the Jade does not play 24/96 but worry the dvd/cd has compromises that .......

I bought my xenon second hand and already rewired by Audio Origami with cardas from clips to rca, no solder joints. The sound is awesome so you can just rewire if you feel the need to tamper. This arm .......

some DVD players sound quite good, yes they or a squeezebox do not match a transport, even my old Audio Alchemy (old 2 pc transport) trashes them. However there must be a reasonable return for investm .......

and feel they are great TT's (125 mkII and The AR Turntable) but my choice af arn and cartridge made an ENORMOUS difference and then the VTA made the cartridges. Getting the VTA tweaked and borrowing .......

I had to put the Green on eventually just to get the beauty the night demanded..Joni Mitchel was fine, D & D - had their usual verve and great voice tones but were just not getting the system to swing .......

my vinyl rig. I currently use a Benz L2 (Thorens 125II/Alphason/RougueStealth) but prefer the Shelter 501 mkII. Also I use tube pre&power amps How does the Lector compare to the vinyl set you have lis .......
