I have compared its sound to that of many competing products, including the DAC2x. It was as least as good as all and better than most. To me, it just vanishes sonically. I hardly know how to describe .......

It's likely that your current source is the weakest link in your fine system. I'd start with the player software on your Mac. Try free trials of Audirvana, Pure Music, and Amarra. Buy what sounds best .......

IMO, the Amarra team has made *a lot* of progress with the program in the last release or two. But I like Fidelia better too, Mercman. Also, Fidelity feels kinda like a polished, more mature Decibel. .......
