All the above can be had for less than $1k. Biamp is a nice upgrade path; many times you can do used s/s on bottom with tubes on the top and a decent active crossover for less than the cost of one new .......

I've owned a pair of 846B Valencias for the past 10 months, and ran them with a very nice tube push-pull amp. They sounded good, but never great, and that's with dampening the horns, adding Solen caps .......

It was JBLs speaker to get into mass market and discount houses, circa '79. Actually they were an entirely difference franchise agreement from either the reqular JBL home or pro lines. Really shitty .......

The 930 has the '70s black and champagne front and commands a collectors premium. The 670 is about 6 model years newer, is all champagne, and goes for a little less. I was an h/k rep during the 670's .......

Tannoy did by far their greatest numbers (up to that time) in the United States with the HPD series, which makes for better pricing and availability. I had a dealer in Salt Lake City that did 150-200 .......

but they are very well made. Totally dead and lifeless sounding; not at all like the SAE poweramps which were wonderful (especially for their time). I was a retailer when they were out in the '75-'76 .......

I've got two separate sets of speakers and power amps driven by the same preamp, playing in two different rooms. The problem is with my Rogue 88 amp, which drives my Altec A7-8 VOTs in 846B cabinets. .......

Your speakers are fine. On first look, I'd suggest using the 2270 as a tuner, and use the amp section to drive the L15s (if they're in a seperate room). Stacking all those speakers up and playing the .......
