David Dlugos (Planet10 HiFi) recommends Mod Podge. It's available at Hobby Lobby. Be sure to thin it somewhat. Any coating will alter the sound somewhat but many say it provides greater clarity in the .......

Here's what I came up with using my JVC QL-50 and Pioneer tonearm. I had to get creative on arm length because it was not a PL-41 arm. Got it to align fine with the Turntable Basics mirror. ::: TOP .......

I think they sound great! Bass is tight and not boomy. Bass heft into the low 40's, upper 30's. He has an adjustable midrange boost which I chose not to engage because it sounded a little much for my .......

The last ROK I had the longest was an L-37 that I bought on ebay on Christmas Day for $18.00 because no one was bidding. It was also the quietest one I owned. Kinda' wished I hadn't gotten rid of it. .......

I rebuilt an AR-XA last May and there is delrin that those ride in. Looks pretty much like set and forget. Just tight enough for no bearing slop but not too tight. Also removed the little tonearm damp .......

Speed seems really steady using strobe disc to check. I like being able to change speed with a flip of a switch. It has some real heft to it so it probably will stay put and not move around under belt .......

Cabinet is lined with No Rez from GR Research. It's great stuff. Cut it on your table saw with tar backing down. Use band saw to cut clearance slots for bracing. End result is bass is much tighter. .......

The stock cabinet has a 3/4" front baffle and 1/2" material on all other sides. I went with 3/4" all the way around and added bracing. Both drivers are flush mounted. Cabinet depth is slightly deep .......

Thanks for the kind words. The plinth is 2 layers of 3/4" mdf laminated together. The finish is Duratex, an acrylic, textured finish that you roll on. I found out about it from GR Research but PE also .......

Is eliminate the tonearm and all of the changer mechanism and use it as a 4 speed deck. I've done about 4 this way. They have a great idler drive that is quiet and rock steady and are great for 78's. .......

I use a Nagaoka MP11 cartridge. LP Gear has 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 mil.styli to fit. The MP11 is discontinued and is now the MP110. I like them a lot. Have fun. .......

I think the profile someone sanded on the idler helps it to be quieter. Look at a Lenco wheel, less contact surface. Lots of folks get their idlers rebuilt. I've never done that, just clean with laque .......

If it has a pre-cut tonearm hole the distance probably is not correct for anything you would want to use. The top deck material is pretty tough to machine. What I did is put masking tape over the arm .......

It's two speed, 33 & 78. The REK L-34 is 33/45, L-37 is 33/78, and LP-743 is 33/45/78. I like them better than the big B-12H because no aluminum top plate to vibrate, tonearm placement/plinth construc .......

Thanks for the great suggestions. I'm leaning towards rotating the top deck 90 degrees and mounting the arm directly on the plinth. That means I won't have to mess with hacking on the top deck and/or .......

On Audiogon under "Lenco" under "virtual systems" there are lots of pics of TT's where the top plate has been rotated 90 degrees to get the arm off the top deck. If I use the AT1007 the VTA is infinit .......
