By "screw in the new one" I assume you mean the entire spindle with the tungsten carbide pivot spike in it. Yes, that is a piece of chake to swap out. I am trying to just change the pivot spike in the .......

I bought a used VPI Scout at a bargain price. (Under $500) I noticed that the unipivot spike's tip was worn, and the very tip of it- just the last tiny pointy 0.05 mm of it was bent. I got a new silic .......

I would hope when we are listening to audiophile direct-to-disc recordings that they use quite accurate RIAA curves; I would also guess that the various audiophile re-mastered re-releases are quite ca .......

I've looked at the waveform at 20 Hz to make sure the preamp isn't being overloaded. Noise in the output would show as a reading on the meter showing output from the preamp when input is absent. And w .......

All three preamps in the graph use passive RIAA EQ. #1 and #3 are tube designs. #2 is solid state, using opamps. I started working to come up with a valid test method with #1 and #3; #3 sounded so bri .......

No, I don't see why an IRIAA module would be needed. I am comparing the preamp's output curve to the curve defined by RIAA, not looking to get a flat curve which is what you'd get using the IRIAA .......
