Herb Reichert stated the 60 was the best amp he had heard with his .7 so I think you'll be fine but double check with a Pass dealer or contact Pass. Maggie's need high current which the pass can deliv .......

Don't give up on those 1.7 they will absolutely sound better than the LRS once broken in and correctly positioned. I had 1.7 and a friend brought over his LRS while LRS is great for the money it was n .......

Trying to help a friend pick out Maggie's for his 12 x 26 room he thinks LRS will work I think he should go with at least 1.7i. He listens to mostly orchestra and organ any thoughts? .......

He also did a few terrific Lp's with the band Taste. I was working in a rug warehouse in 71 with a couple of Irish guys who turned me on to him, gave me the Taste live LP and I've been a fan ever sinc .......

When I was looking for an amp for my 37i I called McIntosh and they said not to use an autoformer with Maggie's, they lost a sale but I appreciated the honesty. .......

I did get the Pepper 2 CD Abbey Rd and White multiple CD sets and thought they were awesome everything was improved. With the White it was interesting to hear the song development. .......

I had Emotiva 1L mono blocks trying to drive my Maggie 1.7 and the Amps kept blowing, they made multiple return trips to the factory for repair I just don't think they have produce enough amps to driv .......

Your room will be fine I have 3.7i in a 12 by 15 room. I would suggest starting with a pair of 1.7.i with a sub in that room. ( That was my first pair) Just make sure you have a good amp 6to drive the .......

I have 3.7i in a 12x15 room and they sound great also had 1.7 in the same room and they sounded very good, the larger Maggie gives you more of everything. Unfortunately no experience be with the 3.6 J .......

How about a more expensive Grado or a Soundsmith cartridge. I running a Carmen 2 and it sounds phenomenal. Sometime you can get great buys on the used market of gently used cartridges... that's where .......

I used a Parasound Halo Hint with 1.7 and the sound was magical plus you get everything you need in one unit. When I went up to the 3.7i I upgraded to a Pass set up. .......

I too have Maggie 3.7i in a 12 x 15 room and they sound great, previously had 1.7 in the same space. I would go with the larger size .7, if you have a sub too you'll probably be satisfied. You're not .......

Just tried a twenty pack used my first one and it did a great job cleaning 12 jazz records I was given. Once opened it will dry so have multiple records to clean. Each wipe is approx 7 x 7 soft leaves .......

Why not send it to Soundsmith or other cartridge rebuilding service for repair. I had a Sumiko Evo 3 that the whole cantilever was broken off and it came back sounding good as new. .......

I have my Maggie 3.7i in a 12 x 15 room with 2 subs and they sound wonderful. I started with 1.7 in the room and a good deal came along so I jumped on the 3.7i and am glad I did. You get so much more .......

I agree the more you move up the Magnepan line the better it gets. I also moved up the line and the difference is amazing. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the improvement you get with the 1.7i. ::: T .......

I'm using Canare 4S11 cables with Maggie 3.7i bare wire on amp and bananas to the speakers. Canare has everything you want and I can't see how spending more will get me better be results. .......

You can probably get your money back on the LRS when you sell them they seem to command $600 to $650 on the used market as buyers don't want to wait. .......

I went from the 1.7i to the 3.7i in a 12 x 15 room and I'm very happy that I did. You get a much larger sound stage and unbelievable separation and articulation of instruments. Just be sure your amp i .......

After the break in period I went with just copper wire 12 guage and found the sound more to my liking. Could be my older ears attenuate anyway. .......

I used a Parasound Hint with my 1.7's and they paired amazingly. The prior model integrated should be available used in your price range. I would try what I have first however. .......

Using Coda or Pass are great matches for Maggie's plenty of watts and high amp output to feed the speakers. I'm using a Pass 250.8 myself great sound and it never runs out of power. .......

Be careful of McIntosh amps with autoformers when I was amp shopping the factory told me they were not a great match for Maggie's.( Not sure if the model you mentioned has one or not). I ended up with .......

When I had 1.7 with Emo xpa monos I thought they were a bit thin and bright sounding, I found Parasound Hint to give a much fuller, richer sound. .......

Manufactures sometimes publish misleading stats it could peak at 40a but may not be sustained, but you can give it a try. I went through a few cheap Amps with good published stats with my Maggie's ::: .......

Magnepan had recommend staying away from D amps I don't think they have the current needed to drive them, they put out wattage but not high current. Consider a Parasoud integrated I used one with 1.7' .......

As long as you are about 3' out you should be fine. Wondering how you are finding the sound, I would think the LRS maybe a bit small for a room that size. .......

Lots of remastered lps and cds do in fact sound much better than the originals. The top and bottom ends of many were cut to play well on cheap record players and for car and transistor radios ::: TOP .......

I remember seeing an article on ELP reissues and Greg Lake stated after trying different weight vinyl they concluded the 140 sounded best and was thus used for their reissues .......

Rwturned for repairs about 4 times over 12 months till they finally gave me a refund. The Parasound Hint was a huge improvement in sound , quality and reliability. .......

I had Emo xpa 1L monos with my 1.7 and they continuously shut down and had to be returned. Currently eyeing Pass 250, Bryston 7b mono and JC 1. I'm lucky my wife will go along with a huge budget stret .......

Rhythmic makes some really goof subs in your ptive range that go down to 20 hz. .......

Did some listening to Elton John Tumbleweed Connection an lp I use to enjoy very grainy soundind the cd version was a bit better I'm wondering if anyone else has this particular lp to try. Thanks Hohn .......

What size space are you moving to. Larger Maggies can do well in smaller space. I wpuld certainty try the 1.6 in multiple positions before making a change. .......

Hope I don't need to go that far. Have noticed some improvements by repositioning speakers. Still some harshness noticed in vocals especially my beloved 60's 70's rock. .......

Unfortunately setting them on the 15' wall is not possible. I did move them a bit closer to the side wall. Listened to Norah Jones and some Cat Stevens sounded good. I asume Jones has some harshness i .......

Think I am getting confused with someone else. No mods were done to my Maggies. I did replace the resistors with copper wire jumpers at one time but none of the copoer wire was ever stuck in my speake .......

Taking a few days to clear the brain and ears. No remnants of copper wire in speakers, did replace all jumbers with Maggie supplied resistors. Did take the time to clean all connections on speakers. O .......

Side 2 sounded good a few fuzzy buzzy spots mostly in Pauls big looping bass notes. The vinyl actually sounded better than the cd. .......

I'm currently using the 1 ohm resistor provided by Magnepan on the midrange and no resistor on the tweeter. Have dry wiped contacts but not wet cleaned. .......

In my 3 years with 1.7 and 1.7i I can't recall ever hearing any fuzz or buzz or distortion. Maybe there are just lots of nad r&r recordings I'm noticing now. .......

Maybe the 1.7i was a smoother sounding speaker. I've changed the position a bit will try with mid resistors and different positions. One thing will sound good and the next bad. .......

Trying different speaker angles with tweeter in. Sometimes it almost sounds fuzzy or buzzed on vocals, you can hear it in the room and when you put your ear up to speaker. Most direct to disc recordin .......

I must have at least 150 hours on the speakers. Speakers sre in a 12 x 15 room along 12 foot wall 17" from side wall tweeter toed in 31" from back wall and outside 42" from rear wall. .......
