After my initial look at prices ...- were both stock and X models at show? It would need to be a dramatic improvement to justify 8k. That's basically an added cost of a 3.7. All based on 20.7 prices .......

Yah. For any other amp I've had I've felt like you as well. I've only had several solid state amps. But warm up or on time was insignificant. These are my first monos. .......

Dwell re the 30s. I mean 1 they are just other worldly size wise and they cost 30k back then. So when I say big panels - I mean the /0 series and 3 series. I really just don't have a lot of interest .......

I have a tube line stage as well. That I will typically shut down. I do hear diffs as it warms up .. but the pass amps seem to benefit from it more. .......

Yes actually I have. Diffusion is the way to go. My room is pretty dead...- I am going to make the cylinder type of diffuser around the room and I do have GIK 244s along the back wall. I find them on .......

I currently have my dac going direct via balances cables - ps audio directstream. I have a Cary slp98p with a slightly noisy tube that is single ended. The Cary was modded to include the mundorf caps .......

I agree with this EStat. Basically I was told the 260s essentially have the power supply of the x250 in each mono. I think that plus the 34 watts in class A is a winner. .......

Interesting. 6 moons had a different take on that same room. Also. I heard the exasound room in axpona I think in 2019. Not sure of the amp at the time but they stuffed 4 3.7s in a 12x15 room or so? D .......

And that imho is a much better way to do business. Dealers that ship in a lot of cases get a 10 day trial. But - if you don't like - you get to ship them back. :) .......

So a couple things on the 20.7. You can get them with the wood base or the metal feet. At least you used to be able to. They may have stopped the metal feet. Re the wood base - not sure if it matters .......

My view on sanders speakers are is that they are very revealing. Very 'clear' with that fast stat sound. I would never call them warm or having highs rolled off. I would guess the atmasphere is going .......

Oh for sure. I don't think there really is a right or wrong. Just a preference. I think mags do 'soundscapes'. They have actually drawn me into some genres of music because of the bigness or spaciousn .......

I'm still not sure why the 20 series gets no love it seems. Dealers rarely carry them - even if they have a 3.7 in the house. Magnepan rarely markets them as if they are too expensive. I absolutely lo .......

All of this sounds like fun to me. :). So the pass x350.8 is biased 18 watts class A. I put that into a calculator and based on my speakers efficiency - that is 95db in my seated position. I'm curious .......

Agreed on Soular energy. A very good studio album. I have a Japanese sacd of Time Out - Dave Brubeck. Sounds great w timeless jazz. Recorded in 1959 and you wonder what these recording engineers have .......

I agree with this BDP. When I auditioned the 20.7 - I was focusing on the bass and found that I loved it for everything you said - and it became a selling point for me. It is crazy how sensitive it is .......

As much as I like the LRS.... I'd say a dramatic improvement. The LRS sounds great and is a great speaker. Saying that....it's a speaker. The 20.7 isn't a speaker... it's something else that makes you .......

I love my 20.7 w orchestral works. I have Martin Logan odyssey's as well and used my decent with them. Orchestra just didn't do it for me w those. The mags brought a mid magic texture / soundstage / a .......

Try a cheater plug on the sub. If the hum goes away you have a ground loop. If it doesn't then it's something upstream. I've done this to solve a ground loop issue. Moved to another house / new room / .......

I have heard the LRS. I have 20.7s. They aren't 20.7s. :). But come on.... not much is. Saying all of that - the LRS creates a nice floating image - gives you a very nice stage - and in the right room .......

Isn't that the truth on the break in. My 20s changed a lot from setup for quite awhile. I'm not a big break in fanatic either. Things changed pretty drastically along the way. Can't wait to hear more .......

I've got 80.5" Speaker panel is 79. There is a 1/4" gap between speaker and base and I measure the base at 1.25". You've got room to spare!! :). .......

Multi channel w dsd. Been there. Here is the deal - seems like the engineers don't know how to handle the extra channels. Some have aggressive approaches to the rears. Some use them as ambience only. .......

That's funny. I did the same thing when demoing the 20.7 there on some boulder monos. Swan lake choked them for a second. They were their lower level monos I believe. I've never had this issue at home .......

I have both Maggie's and ML Odysseys. Never a big fan of their newer lower line product. Just my opinion of course. The ones up the food chain can sound really nice though. The woofer panel integratio .......

Not at all. The 20.7 is amazing. Those and the DS are pretty amazing together. Recently added my upgraded direct coupled Cary slp98p back in and it too has added some 'specialness' :) .......

Ok. Well the Cary is on its way back. I ended up going direct coupled / changing the output cap from 1.5uF to 4.7uF mundorf. I also got the hexfreds and had some 'foil caps' replaced in the power sup .......

I have no resistors on my 20.7. Maybe you have a room thing going on - or the 20s are just different in that respect. Have you tried tweeters in? The 3.7 is special. Going from a 1.6 is a no brainer .......
