I have used Tekton Design speakers with great results with low power SET amps. Both a 8w/ch 300B amp and a 1.5w/ch 45 amp. The Tekton Lore can be had used for $500-$700. .......

Thank you Eli. Frihed89 ~ As I understand it, yes the 7N7 is very similar to the 6SN7 (slightly less output) and the 7F7 is a replacement for the 6SL7. But of course you need an adapter for either. I' .......

Initial impressions after 3 hours with Ascendo C8 speaker's which are 88dB - 6 ohm is good;..tonally rich and full - yet with good detail, good dynamics, music is almost 100% free of speaker enclosure .......

To me it seems that every piece of gear responds differently to the various budget supports that I have used. Have had some good results with these 3 budget feet: BDR cones, Myrtle Wood blocks, & Vibr .......

I can agree that EMI has put out an awful lot of great recordings (Decca, only a few), Telarc has so many that are good-very good, that I can say that i never had a Telarc that I disliked. And these 2 .......

I had this same decision and ended up with an AZ AMP1 gaincard @ 45w/ch and a Melody p/p I2A3 @ 18w/ch. Both were priced well below what a good set amp costs, work fine with my 89dB floorstanders, and .......

I've used the Audio Zone AMP 1 as a power amp with a small Dared tube preamp with excellent results. I actually prefered it this way as opposed to using the preamp side of the AMP 1. .......

I had a small screwdriver and it took about 3 full revolutions to go from the 1.7 it was at to the 1.5 I wanted it at. Overall very easy and worked out fine. Thanks ! .......

Yep, Audio Zone Amp 1. Transparent, natural, maybe a tad lean but a gorgous refined sound. Pair it with a good tube pre amp and it's even a little better. .......

From my experience w/ Von Schweikert & Wharfedale speakers, biwiring was subtle but noticeablly better ( depending on how you set the cable & jumper, either the high's were more transparent or the low .......

I only added 25lbs. / speaker and noticed a nice change. Bass and mids became more focused.Definately worth the effort and at some point will add another 25/side I,m still using the thin spikes(on car .......

I have had the Sony SCD-C333es for several years and have been very pleased.Of course it is excellent w/sacd but also very good w/remastered or well recorded redbook.On most redbook it is very average .......

When I disconnected the ic from preamp(Rogue Audio) to monoblock(Rogue) the radio signal disappeared.That ic is an older JPS Labs superconducter+.Also I recently started using power cords from Guerill .......
