Both tubes are connected screen to plate and I used an interstage between them. I was planing on doing a direct coupled amp but decided to go with the interstage just to cut down on any potential prob .......

The 52 is a dual grid tube like the 46. It is a fairly rare tube which is probably why there is so little info about it. I guess I will just have to play with it and see what i come up with. Cal ::: T .......

If the tubes were stored properly, for example not kicked around or mishandled in any way there is no reason any of them should be bad, providing they were good to start with. There are NOS tubes out .......

Something like that could be hard to source. Most power supplies these days are geared towards computers which usually use 5 or 12 volt supplies. You could search some of the Surplus electronic sites .......

Capacitor coupled means there is a capacitor between the plate of the input tube and the grid of the output tube. Direct coupled or DC means there is no capacitor in that position. With the monkey cir .......

Actually I should have been a little more clear on that. I will be using a subwoofer and a horn Tweeter so I don't really need a true fullrange just a wide range that can cover 180 to 5khz. Sorry abou .......

That would depend on which 6SN7 tubes you have some are only rated for 300 V While some are rated for as much as 450V. I'm not sure if the circuit would limit the Voltage in any way so your best bet w .......

None really. The 71A is a tube from the 1920's. It came in many different forms. Globes, ST, etc. Every manufacturer had there own way to label them, which brings up the ux,and other labels. The 171A .......

The rule of thumb for OPT's is three times the plate resistance. The resistance of a 211 @ 1000 volts is 3800 so that comes out to 11400. A 10k primary would be less than ideal. I would try for at lea .......

I only use 1 to 2 watt DIY tube amps so, 100db + efficiency is a must. No, horns are not perfect but then no loudspeaker is. For me horns are the way to go, they sound good and are fun to build. What .......

What voltage is your variac putting out at 100% (under load)? Some will go higher than the voltage they receive. The one I use for bench testing puts out 130V at 100%, that is 15V higher than my wall .......

I once had on the breadboard a p-p, direct reactance drive, 6FD7 (basicly the same tube as the 'EM7) It sounded very nice, I never pursued it though. Mostly because I wanted to concentrate on SE amps. .......
