In my opinion, yes, the phono section is very good no matter if you utilize a MM, either standard output or high output MC, and really, matching your SUT to your cartridge through the Croft, good to g .......

First off, I respect John Strohbeen at Ohm Acoustics, I do think the Ohms are very good sounding speakers and I have owned several of them over the years. The last couple pairs that I owned were 3XO m .......

Hard to say, they come and go. I do think they have had a bit of a flavor of the month thing at first, many just curious, some brought out by the Stereophile review, etc. In the grand scheme of thing .......

The Croft Micro 25 pre/Series 7 hybrid power amp is a very nice match with the Harbeth P3's, seems to be a combo sold often across the pond. Hope all is well with you Oscar! .......

While not trying to sound like a power monger, I would also suggest the Coda CSiB integrated amplifier. One that flies under the radar for the most part, but can be found used every now and again, or .......

I have owned a pair of the Larsen Model 4's for almost 2 years now. I hate to gush about them, but they really are quite fantastic. I like that they take up almost no floor space, yet retain dimension .......

Just to post a little update, I purchased a well taken care of Plinius 8150 integrated that had been factory updated to an 8200 Mk1. This drives the Shahinians fantastically, no complaints here whatso .......

mbnx, yes I have heard the Larsens, I own the smallest model, the 4. I like it very much, takes up little space as it is a wall boundary speaker, sounds much bigger than its diminutive size would sugg .......

I guess if I am to be more technically correct, the OA58 was a Carlsson speaker and not strictly Sonab, but any way, they are all very interesting, and the ones I have heard from either has been fun, .......

Larry, have you looked at the Carlsson Planet website, my Larsen Model 4's are almost a spitting image of the OA58. Very little difference, same height, cabinet volume etc. I agree a lot of the older .......

I agree Ben, I do think some things get a bit blown way out of proportion at times fueled by audio nervosa or whatever. There are some things that are obvious and will not work, or work well together. .......

I am not sure how or what I would exactly classify Larsen speakers, I have a pair of the Model 4's and coming from the current line of Ohm Walsh CLS type driver speaker, are very similar in soundstage .......

If I had to call the Ohm's anything, it would just be simply a "real world" speaker, one that once you have listened to it, and get what it does and what it is capable of, it kind of makes you forget .......

I have had a pair of these for about two weeks now, running them with an ARC LS3/D130 and various CD players as well as streaming tunes from an Apple TV, and I have to say, these are very good speaker .......

As a person that has MMG's and a pair of REL T3 subs, I would make a recommendation for a pair of Ohm Walsh 2000/3000's, these sound more like Magnepan's than not, and can give the dynamics and bass t .......

While I am a fairly big Ohm fan-I have a pair of Ohm Walsh 3/3000's and a pair of Ohm Micro Walsh Talls, I certainly wouldn't expect a pair of FRS-15's to be patch on 3.6's! While good, just no conte .......

Gary, the 1.7's were in the same basic spot as the 1.6's used to be. We didn't talk a lot about the overall setup, just listened to music. I know the 1.6's always sounded very good in that position, b .......

I really do not think the amplifier was clipping at all. I did not listen to them at rock-concert levels or anywhere close except for maybe a brief twist of the knob at one point just to see how thing .......

Doctor, I took a look at the back of the speaker and if I remeber correctly, I think they did have the attenuator terminals, but I would not swear by it. I do know that if they did, there was nothing .......

Thanks Sgreen, both my pre and amp have captive cords on them. I have played with cables in the past and have settled on the DH Labs cables as I find these to be very neutral and relatively cheap. Cab .......

Bambi, my room is 16.5' X 15' give or take a few inches, but it also opens up into a kitchen/dining area that is also 15' X 10' or so, along with 2 adjoining hallways, so it isn't just the room/volume .......

Waz, you are going to really like the Pass 150 I think. I had my MMG's hooked up to an X150 amp, X-1 pre and Wadia 302. I enjoyed it a lot....that is until a divorce took it all away except for the MM .......

Wow, I can't believe I just lost about 15-20 minutes of my life reading through this thread. I think a lot of the problem is we take our hi-fi's and music way too seriously, damn, it is supposed to be .......

The P2 is a good amp, and should be plenty reliable. I have a PVA2 and a MCA2, both have been in service for several years and no problems so far. These amps have been used with Magnepans. I find Ant .......

Just a follow-up. I bought a pair of Velodyne SPL-800R's for a really nice price, cheaper than the Def. Tech Supercubes I was looking at, but very similar. 8" sealed unit, good cabinet build. They are .......

Thanks for all the info so far. As far as budget goes, that is always a good question, I really wanted to stay around 1K, especially going for 2 subs. I still would prefer the 2 subs to one larger one .......

I am starting to look at sub(s) for my MMG's, trying to add a bit of the missing low end. My room is approx. 16 wide X 14, and also opens up to a kitchen area 16 X 9. I am not a basshead, just looking .......
