There are lots of XLR plug choices out there but much fewer XLR socket choices for some unknown reason. If I want, and I do, to replace existing Neutrik Gold XLR jacks I have the option of Furutech Rh .......

Agreed good sound with Mac mini but with my Auralic Aries I can't get the dual with Kingrex battery supply to work with either of my Dacs. Someone said it may be to do with the grounding of the Aries. .......

Anyone know how to remove the top cover. My dealer says it's complicated but don't want to travel just to remove the top. Reason? Think something got stuck inside and is scratching cds. Too many drunk .......

Jamie, Breadboarding will only tell you if it works and not the final sound quality you can expect so IMO do it in a chassis. Hammond chassis are quite cheap and easy to work with. You'll end up with .......

Forget the negative comments as in my experience the AGs don't ring when set up properly as it is normally the amp that causes the ringing. Plus, they do disappear like a mini monitor again when setup .......

Are you not using the centre tap of the filament transformer? You can then get rid of the pair of balancing resistors before cathode cap. No hum pot required. Some 2A3s are spec'd for +\-5% on fil vol .......

I believe the Electraprint PSSS 5K 80ma 8ohm helps too as I use 16ohm drivers which gives less distortion, power reduction is not an issue as this amp is a monster compared to the Ultrapath. Strategic .......

Been using Decibel for months on my macbook but with my 2010 mini has had problems with the playlist ie. it keeps getting scrambled. Using it headless with an Ipad and VNC it was a apin to keep chasin .......

I agree it was slightly unfair to compare the HD tracks download since I only use a macbook with hiFace to my AA prestige, which does accept a 24/96 input. I use Decibel software as I preferred it's .......

Sounds nothing like a mobile fidelity disc in my opinion and I have a lot of those. Much crisper and thankfully none of the mud. Those Pat Barber sacd discs from MF I don't particularly like much pref .......

I've removed all the additions to my DRD amp that I previously added which caused motorboating. Removed the extra cap across the ASc cap and rewired the tube socket back for the 6n1p. Guess what? Moto .......

Hi Bodie, I had the same problem with the Phillip's transport. Noise and poor operation. Many a time it got stuck and all you can do is switch off the player at the rear main switch and switch back on .......

Stumped for a reason as to why I'm getting a hiss from both channels of my CD player, heard when you put your ear to the tweeter. Happens with some discs and not others and can be heard while music is .......

HiSon House When I got the Star Chief it too buzzed and on the suggestion of a friend who had done the star chief upgrade, who also got buzzing, removed the choke. This was easy to do by de-soldering .......

For those in the UK check out Matalan for a black granite chopping board at only £10 size about 14x11. Lots of uses for supports or dampening sheets. Perhaps make a sandwich with cork or felt or whate .......
