Hi Have a P4 with Audigy 2, and think longer term will go USB DAC vs sound card, I have the oppty to buy a EMU 1820 (not M) for around $80, and thinking while I search for a DAC will be good for now, .......

I should clarify (it made sense in my head but...) 1.Use the PC instead of a CD player (right now I am using a DVD player) as the source and/or transport. 2.Use the same audio system, ie pre-amp, amp .......

I am contemplating a move from CD/DVD based audio/video to a PC based solution. I am set on the amp (for now) using a CJ MF2250 into Acoustat 2+2’s. My current pre-amp is a Heybrook C2 analog pre-amp. .......
