I've just got hold of a second hand Shure V15III and put one of the aftermarket VN35-HE hyper-elytical styli on it (from Mantra Audio for £25 instead of the £112 for the original Shure VN35-MR ones). .......

You can get the standard 24 pole AC synchronous motors from McLennan drives in the UK. I believe they may even supply the motors for the current Linn LP12's (someone will no doubt correct me on this). .......

Ihave an OL modified RB300 with Incognito rewire and also a bog standard RB600. IMHO the RB600 is the better arm by quite a margin. It simply sounds more fluid. How the OL mod with affect the performa .......

I also rate the Audio Technica ATH-637 very highly. It removes every bit of dirt and dust from the stylus even when viewed under a high power microscope. I got one from B-bay in the UK but had to pay .......

The DL304 is a very good cartridge indeed (especially if you consider the price). I purchased a used (almost new) one to fit to a second turntable (Logic DM101 and Reag RB300 + Origin Live Mod and Inc .......

The motor you are talking about will be AC synchronous motors (as fitted to many turntables). I think these have 2 sets of windings at 90 degrees to each other and the 2 sets of wires are the 2 feeds .......
