This has me stumped: A Rek-o-kut tonearm with a 4 prong stereo connector, but only a single wire coming out. And indeed the black and brown cartridge wire go to ground, and the blue and white go to .......

I found a base and headshell in another box. The headshell is milled from solid aluminum with an "a - e" logo in a white enamel circle. The foot is solid cast metal silver color, about 3" across, 1 1/ .......

Yeah, I don't know what your orthofon tracks at, but given that with 78s you deal with warps and eccentric records, you really want to track them at 4 gr or more. Also a high mass tone arm seems to ma .......

We pretty much use the same method, I am blessed here with soft water too. After dripping on the rack, I usually rub the records dry with a towel. Indeed, most of the junk you see in the photo above i .......

Ed Saunders made a batch of 3 mil conical styli in the original stanton assembly, they sound awesome, very quiet and are cheap. Most 78 rpm styli are actually 2.8 mil conical and sound noisier. Cheers .......

Position trips are fine, but don't work when the label is odd-sized, especially with 78 rpms. A velocity trip actually scans the speed of the tone arm and trips on the fast movement at the run off. Mo .......
