I also purchased the Bruch when I purchased the Sibelius. Basically it is an acceptable reissue. Violin upper registers still not as sweet as the shaded dog but quite acceptable with stronger dynamics .......

I agree. I heard the Betas at Lyric in NYC when they first came out as set up by Mike Kay. They were incredible but the RS1Bs were around $5500 and the Betas over $10,000 at that time (late 80s). Kay .......

Buy the Sony 5400 ($1,500) I have an expensive vinyl set up but the Sony will give you access to new music. The SACDs usually do not sound digital and do not fatigue the way RBCDs usually do at least .......

I do not have the Speaker Corner reissue of the Firebird but in general my experience is that the Speaker Corner Mercuries are darker than the Classic reissues and darker than the original Mercuries. .......

This mono RCA black dog recording is incredible. Belafonte's voice is smoother than on his famous Carnegie Hall album and the back up is wonderful. The sound quality is excellent. As good as anything .......

The new TAS and Stereophile arrived a day apart- the two were virtually the same magazine-how sad. Same formats. Stereophile was actually more interesting than TAS not that either was very informative .......

I suspect the main problem with TAS is Robert Hartley. I have been a subscriber since issue 1. Pearson has had a long ride but he no longer controls the magazine. His comments are still worth the pric .......

It is hard to beat the full albums-In Dreams, Lonesome & Blue, Only the Lonely-as relaeased on Classic Records. The original pressing are extremely hard to find and very expensive. Go for the Classic .......

Red Trumpet and Acoustic Sounds may inspect but they cannot or will not reheat and slowly cool the warped vinyl to remove the warp. A device to do that is available from either Acoustic Sounds or Musi .......

I just received copies of Glendale, Who's Next, Pretty Woman from Music.com all on Classic Records. I used the Hand Select option. None were warped. I waited 3 weeks for the order. They have to reheat .......

Having gone through Agnes (1972) my record collection was intack. Just the covers were damaged. Water and oil (vinyl) do not mix. Mud can be cleaned off. If the records are washed away or smashed that .......

I have purchased over 30 Speakers Corners lps and the only defects so far are split covers on some of the Mercury reissues. The Classic warps are not limited to there classic line but to any 200 gram .......

Classic Records seems incapable of manufacturing 200 gram vinyl without 50% of these pressings having dish warps. This problem has been prevalent for years (even before they started the 200 gram press .......

The Classic reissue (33 or 45) is not up to the oiriginal pressing on Colgems. When Classic first brought out Casino they only issued the title song by Dusty and Pearson (TAS) faulted that as being be .......

The EU (German) reissue on Universal is the cleanest, most dynamic pressing of this record I have ever heard with punchy but not bloated bass. This is the $30 reissue. If that is what you have look el .......

I have collected vinyl since I was 12- I am now 62. It was never easier to find what you want but you may have to go on line (Gemm or e-bay) and pay a price. Overall the market for classical is cheape .......
