Easy just use an ohm meter to check for continuity to find the spot. You might have to wipe off a coating with acetone or something and a q tip to get to the ribbon. just keep dividing the area in hal .......

I may have mispoken here. It may be possible to run a 16 oham load. A 16 oham load is so uncommon to me that I did not consider it. I still would not recomend it however. .......

The Phase Linear 400 has been beaten up alot. I think it is largly undeserved. The main problem with the amp is that distortion rises markably after your about 1/3 into the power. Sure the amp has lot .......

I finely took the plunge. I ordered two alpha core 12 ga 3.5 mh inductors and 7 Hovland caps. Dang this stuff costs money. $76.00 for two inductors and about $240.00 for caps. I sure hope this is wort .......

I have tons of experience with these products. The phase linear 400 sounds great, some think it has a harsh top end but I don't hear it. I can't decide which sounds better with my magnapan 1.6qr speak .......

semi conductors appear safe to be left on, but my mac mc352 has a bunch of lamps, I think 12 if I remember correctly. The seem to burn out relatively fast, they may get too hot under normal conditions .......

most macs w/o the bezzell lack the cheep plastic b\c the glass was replaced and replacement d/n come with the frame. Use a single edged razor blade to slide under the bezzell and cut through the tape. .......

I can fix delaminated Mcintosh Black Galss 100% perfect every time. Simply pull the face plate apart as if you were replacing the glass. Lay it face side down on a soft cloth and using an exacto knife .......

The Phase linear 400 is one of the most reliable amps ever made in home audio use when in proper repair IMHO. Because they had so much power in there day they were used by sound reinforcement companys .......

not at all, it's just that with with my top end speakers and slightly tweeky power amp I needed a dark and mellow pre amp to keep things sweet. Elimination of the preamp just screwed up the synergy of .......

the problem is I also have a Mcintosh mc-2155 that is a mint unit and the phase really does beat it, it has upgraded matched motorola power transisters, has a damping factor of 1000 to 1, huge current .......

I didn't even take the time to look at it, all I did was bypass the fuse with a good size wire, I could have/should have bypassed all that binding post crap for the bywireing with a single wire, right .......

Both hubs should stick out an equal distance. Look at a reel of tape after it has played through to the take up reel. It should be in the center of the reel with equal space on both sides of the tape. .......

If I were alone at home I would use an oham meter to measure the "nominal" impedance of the speaker and start with that tap. I might be wrong but this is what I would try. .......

the 909 can handel 7inch also, however there are many more 701/701's around for parts. I once had a 707 and they sound great for the format. .......

I really like recording from audiophile LP's, it's great fun and the sound is great, usually much more dynamic range then a CD and soooo smooth, but I also record from CD's record on brother :-) ::: T .......

10 inch tapes should only be used on a deck designed for 10 inch, first I doubt that it would fit, clearence would likely be a problem, even if it did fit the tape path may hit something. besides the .......

A number of yearas ago I use to have an rt 707 pioneer, I use to cut a 1/4 wide by 3/8 strip of aluminum foil and tape it to the tape with splicing tape to trigger the sensor, it worked fine on open r .......

The reason for this is that I want it to be used as intended. The is a type one unit, it was designed to be used on wide track high speed formats. The dbx type 2 is used on narrow tracks and slow spee .......

I have listened to the naks and they are indeed fine machines, I have not done an AB with the technics RS B-100. I have however done an AB with the tascam 122 and although it is quite robust the RS B- .......

this is a great casette machine. Why is it so good you ask? Well besides the killer sound, this three head three motor machine had a built in tone generator and front adjustable bias and eq, ever see .......
