I agree that they are likely related. You need all the speed you can get to climb the leading edge of the square wave and then flatten off cleanly. Probably more representative of musical transitions .......

Hi, I got the amp as a project, and most of the internals were really old (past end of life) and the wiring craftsmanship was poor (and in places incorrectly wired). No real reason to retain the orig .......

Spent the morning on it, and got the loader working properly (or at least seems proper. Drawer opens and closes, and laser mechanism raises and engages disc. Disc is not being spun up at all, so off .......

I remember in the Futterman set up / bias instructions, it suggests swapping tube locations. No idea of your particular amp or configuration, but this would be reversing the position of a push-pull tu .......

I would suggest listening to a similar speaker / tube amp setup prior to making any firm decisions. A lot depends on how important bass is to you - whether you can live with reduced bass on an on-goin .......

If you have any hide glue, you might want to try that. Generally not so useful on metal, but you should not need a super strong joint there.... The advantages are - lasts 'forever', easy to remove wit .......

I certainly did not want to give the impression that the amp sounds bad. It actually sounds incredible, and I am looking to fine tune it. The bugle boys sound a bit fuzzy and takes some noticeable lif .......

I actually was running a pair of Amperex bugle boy in the amp, and it was too warm. I ran the same tubes in my prior amp, and they were fantastic. Just goes to show. That is why I think it may be hard .......
