The CCS is just there to fix the current(It is set to a certain value) and add a high impedance to the plate. Running the tube hot will make it more linear oftentimes. Running it cool makes them last .......

You need to move the tonearm up or down the post 4mm or so to get a 1 degree or so difference. Therefore, the thickness difference of a a mm or less is nothing. .......

I have found that there is never a "complete" lack of AC in a power supply so I agree with TK in that you should see it. The one time bypass caps worked for me, the difference was obvious on the oscil .......

Copper oxide is not the best conductor(it does not conduct) and that would be the green crap on the old zip cord if it is clear. Tinning also may protect it from a poorly made PVC outer layer as vinyl .......

I have found that many re-issues are better than the original pressings as they might be closer to the original master tape. Sound wise, I like the Analogue Productions re-issues of Jazz for $35 bette .......

I have heard and measured both and what he describes is accurate. The KT88 will require feedback in triode mode unless you like distortion. Steve Bench measured an inherent 1.4% in the KT88 in triode .......

buy a nice wooden shield and line it with metal (inside too for fire) and then buy lithium batteries(shockingly compact yet powerful for motorbikes, electric cars (who knew!) etc. )and not as expensiv .......

it seems to work well. You need to brush the stylus after every side though with a dry brush at least. a cut paint brush or something like it works well. I use the Last cleaner about every other recor .......

Too many classical records sound wretched and too many pop albums that I have lost interest in. Down to about 1600 total. The Jazz and blues I don't touch too much. .......
