Cleaning a record on the monks, if needing extra, I can use solution with a ultra soft goat hair shaving brush for a 'manual' pre-clean... only on the worse of records... then run up to 3 different ty .......

Ok, but I have used goo gone on vinyl siding and it did cause ripples... this was many years ago and maybe a different formulation, but it surely had an effect on vinyl then. Thank you for your sugge .......

I stay away from sealed records if they are over 15 to 20 years old. Very high chance it's warped... and back in the day there were MANY sellers that would re-seal used albums and sell as new. ::: TOP .......

Thanks for the suggestion, but amp is over 35 years old and only 65 watts. It would need re-cap and other things which would add to expense and hassle. This is also at the end of Sansui quality... the .......

The challenge was that Mikel could tell the difference between your recorder/burned CD, and an LP, 5 out of 5 times, which he did. I remember there being many issues with your recorder in the system, .......

The KEFs won't work. Not looking for near-field type mini-monitor speaker. They are inefficient (85db/1m) Bottom-out @ 50Hz which will not blend at all with my subs, which, as I already said earlier, .......

Well, you could compare audio spending with comparitive loudness gain on an amplifier when you double the wattage, the uninformed assume the percieved loudness also doubles, when in reality, the gain .......

I'm thinking humidity too, out of the 900+ SACDs that I have, I have yet to experience any rot. I've had an older CD or 2 do this, but I think it was due to process or poor dye. I have never had a pro .......

Many of the Back to Black reissue are very very good. Such as the import Nirvana, which used original 320 stampers, the both Hendrix are excellent, even though only one is analog, there are more that .......

If you want a BD burner, I recommend a Pioneer 206D, it is the same as the current lite-on model. I have one and haven't had any problems, working great. It looks like there is not any Lightscribe BD .......

Thanks for your responses. I tried the same disc again, and I still got the whirring noise, but much quieter. I then changed discs and it was quieter yet. The past few have been almost totally silent, .......

I can put just about any tonearm on my Technics SL-1000 MKII (SP-10 MKII with factory plinth). Also, the Technics EPA-500 series tonearms are very, very good and can play most any cartridge. These arg .......

I dont understand not covering the whole turntable when not in use? It's alot easier to clean the platter than it is the rest of the turntable, including the added risk of damaging the cartridge/styl .......

First, the use of digital mastering was well in use in the mid 1970s, especially with Classical music. Digital mastering when done right, is not a bad thing. Even today, it is used to make improvement .......

Usually what happens on the first few plays is the removal of "burrs" that are a by-product of the pressing process...there are tiny vinyl "burrs" in the vinyl that cause pops and clicks...the needle .......

Yes, it is one of the "Vintage" RCM's that used the Lenco idler drive system. The new models use a direct-drive motor. Jonathan Monks, son of Keith and who now runs the company says that there is no r .......
