Spec grade was the P&S 5242 and have since moved to the silver plated 5242 that ACME sells........Use either solid brass or silver plated brass plugs with these....Nickel plated plugs are a no go with .......

YDS Austin! A decent piece of gear involves three things, electronic design, layout and voicing via "passive" parts and an error anyplace along the line will cause the piece to fall flat in the market .......

Your post makes no sense in my experience at all as 16ga solid core is just about optimum.........My commercial speaker wire has received many favorable reviews and it is 16ga solid core...... ::: TOP .......

Cannot comment on pricing as Parasound is having it made in Taiwan by a contract manufacturer, but expect it to be 4-5K retail. The performance level will need to be very high as lots of competition i .......

Basic design work is done on the JC-2 and waiting on some prototypes to play with and expect to go to press in the Fall. The unit is similar to the Parasound 2000, but is all FET in lieu of a combinat .......

Nickel plating is not a good idea and has been known to cause sound to mow down acres of rainforest with the brighness in the upper midrange.........Silver plated 688 brass takes a long time to smooth .......

I had some made up of 1/4" steel stock x 2" X 2" with a small dimple in the middle, then tumbled to knock off the sharp edges and then cadmium plated......I'm sending some to Mike as house warming gif .......

Depends upon how the electrons fell out of the wire......I normally do try to work with the customers, but normally tell them to sweep them up off the floor and pour them back into the wire......... : .......

Made the mistake of changing a bunch of caps in some strathern ribbons years ago and never got them working properly again so now I just play with resistors in speaker crossovers from time to time.... .......

I prefer DC coupled designs and use Reliable Teflon/tin caps for trim in digital and RIAA networks.......Muse KZ and Reliable RTs as bypasses in DC works well for me....... .......
