I've never tried the DJH version but it has it's fans. I believe the Mk.2 had about 14db of gain whereas the DJH was closer to 20db. Should respond well to tube rolling. I liked Sylvania VT-231 quite .......

I liked my AE-3 Mk. 2 quite a bit when mated to my Six Pac amps. I sold it when I had upgraded to the SLP-98 f1. Are you looking at the Mk.2 or the DJH version of the AE-3? .......

Sadly, the only this I have to compare to the Mofi 45rpm is the Rhino CD from 2001 :( The Mofi has plenty of bass and lots of fullness in the low- mids. This is where the sonic focus seems to be, thou .......

I've had the issue with the CD's falling through, but usually only when filling the racks after a move, etc... I've got roughly 1,200 discs in the two units with little space left, so discs falling is .......

The SLP 05 does not have a phono stage, but the SLP-98P does. The built-in phono on the Cary unit (mine is an F1) I found to be comparable to my Eastern Electric MiniMax... a bit more extended-on the .......

For MM carts, I've had good results using either a Jico MM-1 or AT 155LC (both with light headshells such as the stock Technics) on my Mk5. The Jico might have been recently discontinued :( The AT 155 .......

Well, I'd say that the Nighthawk has a bit more warmth than one might expect from SS, while the MiniMax might be a bit "livelier" than one might expect from tubes...especially if you roll in something .......

On my Mk5, I run an Isoplat mat under the thin Technics mat and keep the VTA adjuster set to "0." At this height the arm is just about level or maybe slightly tail up. The 103r is mounted to a Sumiko .......

The "buzz" you're getting when touching the arm lift doesn't sound like static to me. Sounds more like a grounding issue. I had that problem with a Clearaudio Satisfy arm. I learned to live with it, b .......

I would have preferred the green myself, but no biggie. I know that The Lips do a lot recording and mixing with the Reason program, so I'm not too surprised by the "digital-ness." Interesting LP, but .......

Yup. Azimuth adjustment via the screw. Perhaps there are some differences between the headshell assembly that ships with the Marantz vs. Clearaudio's own tables? Dunno. The Marantz ships with a Cleara .......

There is a screw under the armtube of the Satisfy that allows you to swivel the headshell. The portion of the "headshell" that mounts directly to the cartridge has two protrusions that fit into the sl .......

I've got a recently calibrated B&K 707. According to the test book, a 12AX7 that reads at 22 is considered "good." Most of my known good 12AX7's are testing between 30 and 40 on each side. I'm curious .......

Checked in with Dr. Lloyd. The HD Super is not available yet, but it will be SS rectified with two EL-84's and two 5751's. He says that the current HD+ is comparable, but I think I'm going to hold out .......

The 12AX7 LPS (that I got from Jim) worked well in my MiniMax phono. Very neutral, probably a bit less forward-sounding than the Ei grey plates that I have used. .......

Not exactly the same setup, but I've been using the 840C with MMG's. Have no experience with the 740C but I would imagine that they're similar. I find the Cambridge a bit less fatiguing on RBCD than m .......

When I originally auditioned a pair of Six Pac amps, the dealer had a set of MG 12's hooked up and the amps impedance switch set to 8 ohms. I have always kept my MMG's set to the 4-ohm tap on the amps .......
