If it's like a DP-6 you don't need to remove the damping fluid. Loosen the arm attachment 'nut', adjust the threaded rod upwards out of the goo, re-tighten the nut. .......

IMHO too much damping can be detrimental. After much experimentation I find that for MY tastes & MY system the best place to put them on small signal tubes (12A*7, etc) is at the juncture of the tube .......

My Eurolab Premier uses superglue to attach the motor pulley, although the fairly tight tolerances it's machined to take that into account. Doesn't take much glue. If you glue it and need to remove it .......

The whole DD cleaning procedure turned me off, so much so that I quit using DD fluid and my VPI 16.5 altogether. I cannot and will not spend 10-12 minutes cleaning each LP, especially when I can't eve .......

We just bought an Epson 3170 Photo scanner, and when scanning 35mm slides it seems to cutoff a mm or 2 on every border of the slide. The slide holder is not the problem. I crop my images very carefull .......

The symptoms you describe could all be the result of too high a VTF. The Shure gauge has a tendency to indicate a lower VTF than is actually being applied. Try reducing the VTF, adjust it by ear. ::: .......

With a good power supply, not the wall-wart, the MSB Link sounds much better. With a few tweaks and attention to the AC, it sounds MUCH MUCH better, and works great with my modded Pioneer DV525 DVD pl .......

Yes, NO mesh-plate that I'm aware of will work. VAC runs the tubes at 40W plate dissipation (440V @ 90mA) which is flat-out maximum. Brian @DIYhifisupply wouldn't even sell me TJ's to use in my 30/30, .......

If you have the metal-bodied one they are grounded through the R channel (-) lead of the phono cable (or so I've been told). When I had a V mkII, I had to disconnect the phono ground lead that "normal .......

What nobody has really stated is that the goal is to align the CANTILEVER to the protractor grid, not the cartridge body. Ideally the cantilever and cartridge body are parallel to each other but this .......

It flies in the face of Rega's design philosophy of maximum rigidity, but if it works for you, that's OK. Anytime I ever tried it (with thin sorbothane) I didn't like the result, the sound was spongy .......

The BPS is not bright, shrill, cold, gray or grainy, at least in my experience. I owned two, used them on a Rega Planar 3, a table not known for mellowness, and was very happy. The combo had a tremend .......

FWIW, I've never had a problem with the lift on my DP6, and the cueing accuracy is spot on. Maybe I'm just lucky. .......
