Not really as mines got a UPC too. I think the answer as to what pressing it is lies in the dead wax... The stamper number on mine is side one - WMME Alsdorf 936 245055-1-A Ditto for side two except f .......

picked it up on it's release in 92, it's an excellent recording. If your copy is a later pressing maybe that would account for the harshness? .......

These are probably difficult to pick up in the US, but if by the slim chance you should come across a UK Sire pressing of Fear of Music with "a porky prime cut" etched in the dead wax, grab hold of it .......

I've got original UK pressings of ELO2(Harvest)and On The Third Day(Warner Bros). Both sound pretty good as does their first LP which is another original UK Harvest pressing. The OTTD is a diecut fold .......

I've only needed to adjust the speed twice and then it was only very slightly out of pitch. Going by what you say, it appears that you have to take your 855 to a dealer to correct the problem? If so, .......

Hi Paul, I also have Rotel rp-855 and it's nothing like Rega Planar 2. Are you sure that your Rotel isn't the rp-900, which I'm pretty sure is the Rega clone with the RB250 arm? I've had my rp-855 for .......

Is the cart sitting closer to the record surface than it previously was? Something similar(only worse!)just happened to my cart, result was that the diamond was okay, but the cantilever suspension was .......

I own a Marantz 6010 OSE amp which is a slightly cheaper model than the PM700O. I replaced the Marantz's built-in phono with a Graham Slee gram amp 2... BIG allround improvement!! I may be wrong but I .......

The Mission 701's are fitted with a soft-dome tweeter, but are still reputed to be quite sharp in the treble and would certainly emphasise the brightness of the AT440. A smoother sounding cart like on .......

Give it time, the gram 2 will not sound it's best untill at least 50 hours burn in. I'm not familiar with the Project Phono, but going by what you say, it's a better unit than the cheap phono stage in .......

Toni, I would'nt dare risk putting any heat into that arm! Only a small amount could cause the whole arm to warp, and too much(aluminium is surprisingly flamable)would result in the material breaking .......

Yep, taking it to a machinine-shop seems like your best bet. Providing that the material the clamp is made of is easily machinable and there are no problems gripping the job, should'nt take long to do .......

The AT440 gets a big thumbs up from me! Other than the AT110E which it replaced, I haven't heard any other cartridge to compare it with. But going by what my own ears tell me, it's a damned fine cartr .......

Snap! I've also got a new Rega P3 fitted with a AT440ML. No problems at all with noise. When I unpacked mine it was upsidedown,due to my dealer, who fitted my AT440, repackaging it the wrong way up. S .......

The dealer could'nt fix the Rotels arm, so I decided on the P3 and well happy I am with it too! Cant stop, I'm off to give it another spin. Thanks for the advice chaps. .......

Hello,Eric The arm on my humble Rotel has no VTA adjustment, and as is the case with your Denon it's arm was slightly tail-up. So I got myself a felt mat and placed it on top of the Rotels rubber .......

Apparently, EMI England closed down it's Middlesex vinyl factory(the largest in the UK)in Jan, 2001. I'm not sure if any smaller EMI plants still exist in the UK, but I would'nt have thought so. Regar .......
