Yes, well what else can you say, you are correct and it is perhaps where all reviews must start and finish. Most reviewers don't have a long term benchmark to reference to and it's hard to really know .......

Mine is still going well. occasional freezes etc. New laser and LC clock and opamps. It will do for a while yet. Fmac helped with my mods all those years ago. .......

I agree this is the easiest and best forum format around. Most of the others are just a pain and too frustrating to get much out of. And I like Harddrive Highway or hard disc Highway. .......

These filters are quite audible. I sometimes play with them if I have been doing something to my system, just to tune it a bit. But I isually have in with no extra filter selected, I sometimes use the .......

There are real problems poking around with things unknown. Tweaking is rewarding and fun but can damage your gear very easily if you get it wrong. My advice is to workout what mods you want to do, ie .......

Thanks for that. Is connecting a battery as simple as it sounds?? Can you supply some details, and I'll try it. The DDE V1 is certainly better than the sony DAC and the Sony transport is good. I like .......

LP12's can take a fair bit of footfsll if they are set up well. If you can set it up yourself and know exactly what to do thats OK. Otherwise get an expert to do it for you.It may be all you need or h .......

I have had FB1's for 3 years now and love them. I recently replaced the caps with Hovland and a Solen, and the improvement was substantial. They need a bit of power from a quality amp to really work.. .......

I had this problem. The stones would never play, and most other hybrids were dodgy. I had the laser replaced and everything is fine again. I never had any trouble playing RBCD's. Sometimes single laye .......

If I think I have developed a hearing problem I just start tweaking or spending money on gear. Its always improved my hearing... works every time. I bet I'm not the only one to get this cure either. : .......

The way I understand it yes they do and new caps are better designs than old ones, depending on quality I guess. So with that in mind I replaced some of the larger caps in my Pre & Power amps and gues .......

PEC 12 sounds ok but I haver used it, when my negs etc get dirty , which isn't much or often; I wash them by hand in filtered water and photoflo. Then hang them up to dry in a dust free drying cabinet .......

Shoot at higher speeds. The rule is never hand hold at a spees that is less than twice the focal length.. ie 50mm lens shoot hand held at 125th or more. That should do it , faster is better for the sh .......

The films you are using are all good. Pro films are goot too but not always better. My advice is to use a few films a lot and really learn them. Try different speeds ie iso200 with the KodakB&W. Exper .......

You are right and add to that the similarity in the clarity/resolution. A leica or zeiss lens will sound like a Neuman or a Rode and a Nikon will sound like a Audio Technica. You get the idea. Leica l .......

If the lights are uneven across the artwork difusing will help. You should also move the lights further away from the subject so that the light to edge/light to centre ratio is better ie more even. Th .......

My XB940 reads almost everything perfectly. But I have had some problems with the few Hybrids I own. The problem seems to be worse on some discs that others. What I find helps most times is to turn of .......

I use a minidisc [sharp] with a Sony ecm989 plus a zafiro in box[ because the noise in the MD input is awful, they all are at this level]. This gives me excellent results within the limits of MD, i.e. .......

I have FB1's and I love them. I would say that they are in no way harsh or analytical, except in a good way, but very well balanced indeed. Prior to these I used Rogers Studio 1's and there is a liken .......

I think you need to take the top off to see the sticker on the MM card. I cant find any info in my ML1 file on the A4E. If in doubt then the A3 is fine. There are some worthwhile mods for this preamp .......

My LClock XO 2 and opamp mods on my xb940 took weeks to really come good... then they were really good. They even went through a stage of sounding worse, it's worth the wait. .......
