My PS Audio Lambda bit the dust a couple of years ago when it fell off a rack as I was moving it. I tried replacing it with an Oppo 105 and I didn't think it was as good. I eventually bought a Perfect .......

I went to a CJ TEA2SE. It is more coherent and natural sounding to me than the K&K. The music sounds more holistic with each instrument as part of whole. I feel that all the upgrades ultimately ruined .......

At least in my experience. I've tried some of the favs mentioned below, Clear Day, Mapleshade and Speltz and found them to have a a fast, somewhat lightweight sound that accents transients over body. .......

Jolida makes a nice integrated, the jd102, which uses el84 tubes and has a nice vintage sound that would go great with your setup. I happen to like lower amps that use this tube. .......

For a more transparent 5751 you might try Siemens. They have the clarity and transparency that all Siemens tubes are known for and, I believe vacuumtubes.net still has some for $50 each. .......

That is very disturbing. The only way to troubleshoot a problem like this is to change one thing at a time to isolate where the problem is. Remount the cartridge to rule out misalignment, then change .......

In my Audio Note Dac I replaced the 5V regulators with 6V regulators to get 7.3V to the heaters (the regulator's are lifted from ground by 1.3V). That way I can run PCC88's close to their ideal heater .......

It depends on where your preamp applies its attentuation. Ideally, if your preamp attenuates the signal on the output side, and not on the inputs prior to amplification, it might not make a noticable .......

Yes, that is the replacement part number. You should also buy a spare CDM-9 gear (they wear out rather easily). I would question the value of modding a 15 year old transport if I was you - I wouldn't .......

Actually, I wouldn't do either. Unless, your mono cartridge is of the same or better caliber then your stereo cartridge, you will probably prefer your mono records played with the better turntable and .......

Is there a frequency related function for this ASRC transformation of jitter into noise or is it randomly injected into the data stream? Also, what would be the sonic signature of this type of noise? .......

Mine was brand new and I never needed to change the stock tubes which did not have problems with microphonics (I don't recall the brand). Contact CJ about the availability of replacement tubes - I am .......

I have owned the CJ Premier14 (I eventually traded it up for the 16LS). I found it detailed with well defined transients. Describing it as syrupy is a matter of opinion which I don't share. ::: TOPIC: .......

The recipe is to start off at your oven's lowest temperature and gradually raise it 50F every 30 minutes until you reach 350F. Then bake it for three hours, turn off the oven and let the tubes cool gr .......

I just tried the tube baking trick mentioned here on some 5751's that I was about to toss. They tested well but aging made them sound dull and muffled. Baking them at 350 degrees for 3 hours revived t .......
