I have finally fixed my Thorens TD320, which was blowing up power supplies. Turned out the low voltage socket on the TT was causing the power supplies to short circuit. My new one is hard-wired - no p .......

Hi Kal. The 16VAC PS worked OK for about 10 minutes with the speed switch ON after I pressed START to get the the motor running, then stopped. (Didn't try just plugging the PS in and leaving the motor .......

I have the Azur 640A amp with the built-in phono stage and am very impressed. Previously had the Cambridge Audio A500, also with the phono. The phono stages were an optional extra. I'll never forget g .......

I've discovered the original Shure M75 cartridge that came with my Dual 1219 from new. Changed to an Ortofon OM5E because stylii were getting hard to find for the Shure locally. Now apparently good af .......

That's interesting - my Dual originally came with a Shure M75 until replacement stylii got hard to get locally. I've heard Shures are known for low background noise too. Paul .......

No, the whole headshell is loose. The cartridge holder locks in securely to the headhell and makes good connections, but I am concerned about the loose headshell affecting the tracking angle etc. Than .......

Speakers sound good, Bare - Tannoy System 800 studio monitors, 92 db efficiency. Very clean, but Tannoy recommend 100 - 150 wpc. I wonder what improvement there would be with a more powerful amp - mor .......

Thanks for your advice Al. I have been given some resistors by the tweeter manufacturer to try to get the right amount of attenuation. He advised me to position these on the amplifier side of the cros .......

Good idea jrtrent - I might try the Ortofon. By the way, I'm not sure what model the Audio-Technica cartridge is - apart from the red stylus, I can find no model number. It was about AU$50 about 4 yea .......

Hi. I'm a new member with old speakers - Wharfedale Rosedales, 1970. I'm using these in my "bedroom home theatrette". The bottom end (15 inch) is astounding and they are much faster than I recall, esp .......
