I have one record that's like this. A Verve Clef series, no less. Sounds like a crackling fireplace in front of the soundstage, but the music plays without sibilance or noticeable distortion. Amazing, .......

in what appears to be the same TT but not the same HS. My previous/backup cart was/is a 440MLa. To me, 160 has a fatter midrange and smoother treble, equals the MLa in tracking. No IGD or sibilance fr .......

I bought a record at FNAC in Lausanne in 2004. It's sort of a big-box electronics store, but they did stock new vinyl. Lausanne has lots of shops, there's bound to be vinyl in more than one spot. __ : .......

On flocked cardboard, I would try dry brushing with a soft bristle toothbrush first and then hit it with Rodico putty to remove what dry brushing won't remove. Rodico is a watchmaker's cleaning putty. .......

I think a larger space and better placement will smooth out the 'digms a lot in my system. The tend to boom a bit in the small end of the room. Proper room treatment will be icing on the cake. __ ::: .......

I have a stock MK2 with the fluid damper. I never use the 8% pitch control, so I wouldn't pay extra for 16% or pitch reset. The static damping weight on the M5G has to be removed to fit the KAB fluid .......

I enjoy hell out of mono records, in my system it pushes all the surface noise, clicks and pops to the edge of the soundstage and gives me big sound front and center. I f a mono cart or fatter stylus .......

Found it! The resistors are in R103 and R104, there are parallel eyelets in the PCB adjacent to each resistor. The caps are in C101 and C102. I can add resistance in parallel easily. I'll have to eith .......

I pretty much concur with what KyleCoppers said. On my 1200Mk2, the Grado suffers from sibilance and inner groove distortion. The Red may have a slightly "rounder" sound than the 440, but to me the ig .......

It's effective at holding the disc firmly to the record mat. Isn't that the point of a record clamp? I can't comment on how it sounds because I have rawhide doggie treats for ears and my listening roo .......

I haven't been to Cincinnati for years (think 1992), but there used to be a record store on Vine street near Bogarts (a music venue). If memory serves, it too was indie-rock/eclectic. .......

Also, don't forget that many people never bought into the "hold the record by the edge, dust before playing" thing. Lots of folk also quickly discarded the paper inner sleeve and would just chuck the .......

After ca. 3000 hours, it is possible that it wandered out of alignment. If you're on your original stylus, it's likely worn out. .......

I've got the orignal pressing with the warhol zipper cover. (not sure if UK) Unfortunately, it had been kept between other records and the zipper made a little divot in the vinyl. I've never dared pla .......

How violent is the shake? Does it sound like the stylus is mis-tracking? Does the sweep go from 20 cycles to 20k or does it start in the subsonic register? .......
