I had a VAC Avatar Super intg. It was a great sounding amp, but for the most part needed to be left on all the time to sound right. At least a few hours to get 95%. I do not listen to music that much, .......

The nuts that my speaker cable spades attach to on my VAC amp are soft metal, and when I tighten them by hand it is nearly impossibe to get a good grip. Partly because I biwire which allows less room .......

It calls for KT88s. I have been using JJ, Valve Art and EH KT88 tubes. I was reading where Kevin Deal recommends SED winged C 6550s instead of the KT 88s for VAC amps. What can I expect if I use them .......

They serve their purpose for much less than the Bose. ($110-130) I only fly 4-6 times per year albeit 2 of those trips are 8-10 hours each way. It is not worth it to me to buy a more expensive product .......

Depends on the construction of your apt. really. It's not just the neighbors beside you, also above and below if you have any there. Maybe get speakers that play great at low volume might be the answ .......

I was fairly satisfied with the nova. I had used an Arcam cd82, liked it, an Audio Note cd3.1x. It was not a good match with my VAC amp. The midrange seemed a little congested and the bass overdamped. .......

Quad USA 63--Excellent- some say it doesn't produce enough bass(not for use with home theater I suppose), I loved the speaker though. It's been replaced by the 988. Merlin VSM-mm. Great at low volume .......

There are several in the US. We have 1-3 tornados hit our county nearly every year. My wife had the class room where she taught 3rd grade demolished by one about 20 years ago. The winds can be 300-400 .......
