The hobby sort of goes away with "one and done". At my peak, I had a vinyl setup (the tonearm was purchased separate from the turntable) which included a SUT or pre-preamp, a CDP, a tapedeck and a tun .......

Most likely you can, provided the combined input impedances of the two amps is 10x the output impedance of the preamp. SS preamps usually have low output impedances so this should not be an issue and .......

Don't confuse polarity with phase. Polarity is either "normal" or "inverted" and is purely electrical unrelated to the speakers. Phase on the other hand refers to timing difference of the souund waves .......

Yes, at this point EVs do nothing for the environment and it's hard to recoup the cost unless you do a lot of driving. Once the grid gets away from carbon fuels (2050 ?) then EVs will make sense. BTW, .......

Chrome browser is on the DietPi but it's not used. JRiver is on the RPi and on my laptop. My FLAC files are on a HDD attached to a router, another HDD is attached to the RPI and thirdly they reside on .......

I had no trouble installing PSUD with wine on my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. I tried to do the same on my Raspberry but ran into a snag. RPi has only 1 MB of memory which was insufficient to run Wine .......

I run my 3.7i full range with a Rel Strata set at 38 Hz. I think of subs as extending the bass not replacing the bass. IMO the Maggies have great bass but lack extension into the lowest octave. Using .......

I suspect your experience was a result of dumping Windows and going to Linux. I was using a RPi but decided to use it for other purposes and replaced it with an old laptop - but it also runs on Linux. .......

I upgraded from IIIa to the 3.7i and have no regrets. FWIW, my IIIa's were heavily modified: Scraped the internal XO and replaced with copper foil inductors and Obliggato caps, removed fuses and jumpe .......

When you clear out the treble content you also lose a lot of the harmonics (natural) that define the tonal quality of an instrument, ie timbre. The result is that listening to just the lower registers .......

Firstly, the OEM crossover: LP is 4th order at 190 Hz and HP is 1st order at 230 Hz. Magnepan suggested a 3rd order LP mainly because the Bryston 10B Sub did not provide 4th order filters and the same .......

At that price point, you are pretty much limited to a mini-DSP 2x4 or a DIY using the PCB boards from Rod Elliott. If you are looking to build a speaker level crossover you are probably closer to $400 .......

That's a little weird, usually the tweeter just goes silent because it is so fragile. Inspect the ribbon using a flashlight to see if you can find an incomplete tear and check that the fuse is properl .......
