Depending on the age of the deck, the only advantage of a newer deck is the Dolby. Brand new decks are made from the junk generation. They are designed and made not to last. It's a shame really, some .......

on some records mono will be indicated by a M or MG or MR or just mono. look at the record between the label and the last song. there should be a code there. generally if it begins with S it's stereo. .......

I must say that at least the system in question has some bass, a bit to much from the sounds of it and adjustments seem to be all that it is needed. I personally have a hard time with flat or high sys .......

You are better off repairing the Sony or replacing it with another unit. Buy a good CD recorder and do it yourself. Most places charge at least $25.00 to record 80 minutes onto one CD. Do yourself a f .......

You left out the fact that most of todays music is crap anyways so it's really hard to improve the recording going on to the CD when the group or person being recorded has no business doing that recor .......

Case in point. Several years ago I replaced speaker wires with Monster Cable and audio cables with Monster Cable. Three pairs of these for me rather expensive cables have failed in less than 5 years. .......

The older amps and receivers had fuses either on the back of the unit or on the inside of the unit. These were to protect the speakers. You might try looking for these fuses to see if they are blown o .......

I put slow glows on my Sansui AU 515, that did the trick of blowing fuses once a week. The house I was living in at the time was sending micro bursts through the current. That little upset was enough .......

I agree with you on the paper. I use that same kind of paper you mention for my records. When I buy a collection some of records do not come with any inner sleeves and I use those paper-stiffened ones .......

I have 2 enoch light, but they are enoch light & the light brigade and they are on 4 channel stereo 8-track. I don't have a 4 channel system so I have never really listened to them in there true sound .......
