Sold many a pair of tympanis and owned 1Ds in orange! Drove them with a BGW500D. Heard them with many receivers - the biggest negative is a small power supply which limits the speed compared to the ma .......

i have to vote for the kenwood for this reason - the 901 equalizer puts an unusual demand on the current requirement of an amplifier. the others listed aren't in the same league in that respect. An ol .......

They have some new built in shelves and a glass case. More to come. There is also a warehouse nearby with lots available for auditions in store our in local homes. Names like Apogee, Quad, IMF, Luxman .......

Personal bias, but I'll take my Luxman CL35III over anything when it comes to the phono section. If you can find one, a nice unit should be around 1200-1500 dollars. .......

i have my quads and my apogees set up in the nearfield right now - letting them "beam" at my ears, taking advantage of their (only) shortcoming. i think the quads benefit the most, and have never soun .......

x5mc on the sl1200 and a 2m blue on the rega - both great values and very good sounding/tracking cartridge i find that the blue can get a little overwhelmed with loud, complex stuff and the bass is no .......

doesn't matter how cool you think your stuff is, $250 is a great deal to sweeten a secondary system! fiscally prudent as well - rarely see a used one under that price .......
