No experience with your existing gear, but those Vandersteens, at roughly 83dB/Watt as measured by Stereophile, are going to present a bit of a challenge for even a 250 Watt tube amp. It's akin to whe .......

That little green box on that page with USD prices is probably not the exactly how the manufacturer had it - probably changed by EIFL to USD. EIFL is a Japanese company that purchases and exports Japa .......

Had the same problem. Asked on the PS Audio Forum and Paul suggested a slight rotation (e.g. clockwise, counterclockwise) of the toroidal transformer (usual warnings apply; don't do it if you're not c .......

You heard what you liked, so continue to follow the path of tubes. Buy tubes, buy American, be happy. Yes, the M180s are a very worthy upgrade over the Stereo 90, even more-so if you listen at loud le .......

Actually, in this kind of context, adding a dedicated amp might very well do exactly what the author mentions - clean up (i.e. greatly reduce, possibly to undetectable levels) the hiss AND fix bass ro .......

Headphone-land has some additional quirks to consider. Consider the following context: Say you have a nice set of headphones of especially low impedance and/or efficiency (e.g. Joe Grado HP-1000). You .......

Awesome, enjoy! I'm using one with the Hera II and Apollo monoblocks. Mine shipped with some JJ ECC803S and JAN Philips 5814A that I didn't really dig; my system has a bit of excess energy on top (due .......

Here's a pic under the cover of one of my Rogue Apollo monoblocks (not under the "real" cover; I do have some such pics somewhere...). Ok, so the KT90 are Russian :) There are some US 12BH7 tubes h .......

I should add that the USED 99 Magnum prices are indeed very low (much to my chagrin, when it was time to sell my minty unit), and I think it represents an excellent value at those prices. Plus, it can .......

You can call up Rogue for 100% confirmation, but it's almost 100% certain to be NON-inverting. I've always hooked up Rogue amps in my system (Atlas, 90 Magnum - briefly, Apollo) as non-inverting. Most .......
