I have a Jolida Music Envoy, which has the same phono stage as the stand alone Jolida. A ton of options on the back for voltage gain, impedence etc. Can anyone suggest the optimum settings for this Ca .......

One of the tricky things to figure out with the Gallo's is the tweeter. I would assume it's a bit easier to tame 1st reflection points with 'normal' tweeters, but with Gallo's 300 degree radiating sou .......

I recently read a review which contained a tweak from JerryS (also the author of the review)on the Gallo Reference 3.1 speakers. He connected a Mills 12W non-inductive resistor across the speaker term .......

All I've done for years is upgrade, tweak, swap etc. I spend way too much time being a critical listener and not enough time being a critical 'enjoyer'. I have an expensive set up, and a cheap set up .......

Too little power at high levels can cause distortion that will damage speakers. Too much power at too high of levels will do the same but I would think you are safer in this scenario. I have a 200wpc .......

You can swap the speakers so that the woofers fire towards eachother as opposed to the walls. They only fire from one side of the enclosure. I moved my Gallo's far apart, near the side walls and the b .......

I've upgraded, traded, tweaked and treated to get where I'm at now. I spent too much of my time analyzing the sound as opposed to enjoying it. If I'm outdoors and hear a bird sing, I don't bother wond .......

They love it. The drivers do not seem to have an 'optimum' distance to integrate as far as I've heard. I'm currently in the 'near field' as you describe and they sound fantastic. .......

I have a Rotel 1072 CD player that does very well. It's no giant killer but no slouch either. I guess an option would be to sell it, and use the money to upgrade the 9000ES which would give me improve .......

I own one of these and use it for SACD playback only. SACD's though this stock player, simply outmatch 85% of my redbook CD collection. Some of the SACD's I own sound terrible, but that's the fault of .......

They do make a center channel for the Ref 3 line. Check their website, might be on the pricy side but it would make for great coherence with the front L and R speakers. As far as the surround speakers .......

The Ref3 is the speaker, the 3A is the amp designed to power the 2nd voice coil in the speakers woofer. The comparison you'd want is the Reference 3 vs. the Reference 3.1 Apparently they've added new .......

I'll second this. I have some 14g wire running shotgun on my speakers. I wrapped them in techflex and put some heat shrink on the the ends. Very attractive looking, and less then $40 for two 10' runs .......

It seems as though on my MMF-7, when I loosen the allen screws to raise or lower VTA, the entire arm is raised or lowered. I can't see how I can lower just the back end? I'll have to do a bit of resea .......

Thanks! If I lower the VTA won't the stylus pressure increase, and if so, wouldn't I need to adjust it so it wasn't pressing down harder then it should for my cart? IF I re-adjust the stylus pressure .......

Can you set the crossover for the sub on your pre-amp? This is the best way to go I believe. If you do this you can disable the less accurrate cross over on the SVS. If not, you have another option of .......

I decided, after much help from the forum to re-wash the records except this time, I added not one, but a two step rinse with a brush and distilled water just to make sure. The records look incredible .......

Rinse even though it's a no rinse formula? I cleaned about 5 records last night and all but 1 of them look brand new. I guess a rinse can't hurt, but the formula is created so that you don't need to. .......

Thanks for all the info! I'm not sure where the arm should be in relation to the platter. For VTA the Music Hall instructions say the arm should be 'parallel'..that doesn't help much. It could be para .......

Thanks for the quick response. I think my VTA is fine, when I drop the cart onto the LP the arm looks to be parallel with the LP/platter etc. It all seems ok, as far as my adjustments with zeroing the .......

Must be a long album, it's a 2 LP set. The CD version is 79 minutes which I would assume this LP would equal. Drat, It's a limited edition release and an incredible album, just a crappy pressing. Well .......

The only thing that bothers me is the cost and the multitude of things you 'must have' in order to 'TRULY' enjoy vinyl. It seems the average Joe should be able to purchase a $250 TT and a $150 phonost .......

The interesting thing is that the XRCD costs more then the SACD. So far in comparing SACD to CD's it's rarely close. I would assume the SACD compares favorably to the XRCD if not, better. And yet, cos .......

It came with a Maestro cart from Eroica. It's a modified version of the Eroica that comes with the 7. It's a high output moving coil, so I just use the MM setting on the Phono stage. I don't see that .......

I guess I won't be much help, I'm running Home Depot extention cord, 12gauge to them, and they sound great. Someday I'd like to try something else, I'm just not sure what I'm going to hear that's wort .......

I have a solid state system, playing CD's that occassionaly sound bright based on the characteristics of both the CD format and the electronics that are driving the Gallos. Put them with a vinyl/tube .......

I never experienced the full break in as I purchased them as demo's. However, I did break them in myself for at least 100 hrs at 95 decibel's...which is very loud. The bass opened up and the treble lo .......

A while back there was a review of the amp Gallo sells to drive the 2nd voice coil at 6moons.com. The reviewer wasn't totally impressed with the additional low frequency etc. Apparenlty at some point .......

I read somewhere in "the Absolute Sound" that one of the guys who's a big homer for Vinyl said that 90% of the LP's out there right now don't sound all that great. But, the 10% that do will beat any f .......

"Best" is surely difficult to gauge I suppose. Perhaps preamps that are geared towards music only. I have no need for the home theater aspect of the unit. I would think my budget would be below $2,000 .......
